Vigorous Steve uploaded a video and as i was watching it got put to private so I couldn't view any further then what I heard.

Jo Linder better known as "Joesthetics"
has unfortunately passed away in Thailand and died from and undetected blood clot. he complained of pain his neck for 3 days before his passing.

Jo has always had good bloodwork, the only major issue his aunt died from a blood clot so it is genetic in his family.

Iwhat could have been done to prevent this situation? or any kind of bio hacking or preventive steps people can take ?

Im super intrigued to see what Stevesmi, Dylan and Mobsters takes on this are, or anyone who has a take on the situation
or anyone who coaches and understands blood work testing etc.

Did genetics play a part ? Did his steroid dosage amounts factor in ? Length of cycles the type of compounds used ?
Was he unhealthy by being 2 lean all year ? Just some of the questions floating around in my head.

Either way it is a very sad situation and unfortunate for him being so young and full of alot of life.

So far (and yes I did think initially what you suggest when I saw this news yesterday) he may have died during an operation as he was due to have surgery on an abdominal issue.

IF, however, it was due to use of PED then those who think they can abuse them need to take note. The idea that bodybuilders (or even an influencer) seem to be dying younger and younger is just f**ked up.

Now think about the issue of blood clots. Those steroids which give us the best pumps can be ones that make this issue worse

Jon(ny) Bravo says it was a brain aneurysm (when a vein bursts). Possibly related to the pain in the neck being a blot clot which moved I was super lucky cos I had a blot clot on my brain when I was aged 9.

my thoughts are when someone young dies is how it should have been prevented.

sorry to hear about this but in almost all these cases it was a situation where the person didn't address a health issue and let it get to the point where it kills them. this happens a lot in our industry because of machoism of not wanting to go to a doctor. i saw a video where a guy literally snapped his leg in half slipping in his driveway and refused to go to the ER because it wasn't 'manly' .. this is the way a lot of people think.

as far as the genetics thing, i actually was planning on doing a thread article on that soon but still was thinking about how to approach it. my philosophy when someone uses 'its my genetics' logic is explain to them that if blood clots runs in your family the you should be doing everything in your power to prevent them. in this case using stims, steroids, and carrying too much mass of course is gonna make a manageable situation life threatening.

also people spend more effort finding a good car detailer to make their car look good
pool cleaner to make their pool look good
and barber to cut their hair just right

yet fail to find a good dentist, doctor and accountant which can save their health and wealth so they can live a long happy life. i've dealth with MANY of those 3 over the years and most are substandard shitheads. but now I have excellent all 3 and that will help me throughout life. and you have to TRUST those 3 when they tell you to do something, otherwise it will cost you more and even cause death.

if you look at pics of Jo he looks way too ripped and muscular, it is a completely unnatural body and scary when you already know you suffer from a condition. yet he was so obsessed with how he looked to others that he put that ahead of himself. also saw he died in his gf's arms. it isn't yourself you are hurting, it is those around you. his parents will be wrecked forever

Stevesmi makes an interesting point towards the end which I'll address - if you make a living as what is now called an 'influencer' it is a mistake to stay ripped to the bone all year round. Indeed we addressed it in a podcast where, much like how the magazines did back in the day, we said that many do NOT stay that way. A trick is to take a LOT of photos when they are in top shape then use them through the year.

The problem with those that work via video is you're on show EVERY day. Photos/Instagram is easy vs putting out 2-3 videos a week where you are your own image.

Top bodybuilders can really only obtain their best condition properly once a year. More so if, to get in that shape, you use a LOT of PEDs it is crazy unhealthy.

you are less likely to get blood clots if you get covid + are vaxxed vs. people who are not. the studies prove this

i'm not sure if you are just trying to troll this good man's thread and hijack it with nonsense or if you are purposefully spreading lies to promote some conspiracy you read off facebook but either way its a dick move with zero class. you are probably one of those people who show up with signs spreading conspiracies at our troops funerals. zero brains and zero class, you don't do shit like that when someone dies PERIOD

I would like to keep politics and political view points out of the conversation please. I posted this because it is unfortunate and sad that another young body builder has sadly passed away at a young age.

I don't care if someone is vaxxed or not vaxxed and I don't want to get into that side of things. I just wanted the vets knowledge and opinions on this, the vets have seen so many tests clients and bloodwork and issues come up with people over the years. I just wanted to learn something from them, that is why IA asked them to post. I dont need this turning into a vaccine debate,

Jo has passed away and it's a sad unfortunate situation for many people and I want to be respectful of his passing. This post was to gain knowledge and awareness of potential things we as lifters might be able to do to prevent a sad situation like this happening.

100% agree with you brother appreciate you standing up for whay is right. I don't want this turning into a stupid debate on a vaccine. I would like good comments and to be educated is all and post awareness of his untimely passing at a young age.

good post, there is always 1 asshole in life i guess

my opinion on this, as someone who has coached a bunch of pros, is what steve and mobster said above. if you want to look a certain way year round and aren't willing to listen to your body and your doctors then you will find yourself in big trouble. there are all kinds of risks in bodybuilding with the kidney's and heart. even if you run a light cycle it's going to do some damage if you have existing problems

for me it was about 4 years ago when i was on stage at regionals and started to feel dizzy. my doctor said my blood pressure was super high and i need to get on bp meds. I listened to him and was able to get things back under control. what killed me was the tren and clen. those 2 absolutely murder your heart health and I will never run them again!

Thank you Quad! I was hoping more guys who have been in the competitive world and have coached people in that side of it would comment. Also I have to note JO said himself at times he was drinking up to 4 litters of coffee a day, so putting that into perspective along with his history of high blood pressure those don't mix plus being super lean single digit body fat
, no doubt he had to have been utilizing diuretics or clen maybe both. From what John bravo stated that would be like 17 cups of coffee a day at says average of 80mg that is over 1360mg of caffeine daily. I can't handle anything over 300mg a day which is my cutoff point I try to stay at that or under, if cycling I think I'd stick to under 200mg for me personally. Lots of moving parts wirh this one.
