Just completed a 10 day fast

Slothboy

Growing Strong
I’ve just finished a 10 day fast and I have a few things to report. For the entire 10 days I ate nothing, however did drink a shit tonne of black coffee and zero sugar kombucha tea, as well about 8 cigarettes a day. I know technically there are some calories in black coffee and kombucha, but its so minuscule and people generally say straight coffee and tea don’t break a fast anyway. I didn’t do any exercise but managed to walk 10-15km everyday.

So at the end of the fast my entire body shape completely changed, everything from my belly, face, chest, arms and legs completely shrunk, and I’m actually surprised by how effective this was. Even under my armpits I can tell there’s so much fat gone from there now.

According to the scales I lost 6 kilos. Keep in mind I was already doing keto/carnivore so I didn’t have much water weight to lose.

One of the things ai’ve notices is that my ribs up near my chest area have started to feel like they’re caving in on each other. It only hurts for a few seconds and it’s not a big deal though. I feel like I’ve lost so much fat underneath my ribcage, that they seem to be sort of caving in because there’s not all this fat holding them up anymore. Has anybody experienced this before?

Also another thing, my entire right arm is in severe pain. I haven’t injured any muscles (although it feels like muscle/tendon pain), and after a few google searches I’ve come to the conclusion that losing all this fat so quickly might have moved/twisted a nerve in some way, to the point where something is pressing on a nerve in my arm or shoulder and causing this pain. Sometimes the pain is in one area and sometimes it’s in another, and then sometimes it goes away. Has anybody experienced something like this before?

Thanks

@Slothboy welcome BACK to the EVO family! congratulations on the 10 day fast. Did you take before and after pictures? this would be amazing. And what inspired you to fast for 10 days? please share with us. :)

for the new reader, OP was the starter of one of our most popular threads: "Can humans swallow toilet paper?" I remembered his username right away. :ROFLMAO:

Haha thanks for the support.

Actually I was planning on a 5 day fast, but by the 5th day I was feeling energetic, with no hunger whatsoever, so I just decided to keep going and the weight just kept burning off so I had that as motivation as well. Don’t have photos unfortunately. But my entire body feels so much lighter and I have this new found confidence, it’s amazing.

impressive 10 day journey bro @Slothboy very few can do that and you did it, too bad you didnt do before afters thats huge

i am not sure what that pain is that you are describing. if anything the fat loss would have reduced the nerve pain as the fasting would be extremely anti inflammatory.

i have done several long fasts and even up to 19 days and have never heard of that happening.

in the future i don't recommend kombucha during a fast, you don't want to have anything fermented as that will interupt your gut stem cell autophagy

anyway good job on completing 10 days. you got a lot of health benefits that you would have never gotten in your life.

hopefully you can take the next step now and quit nicotine and caffeine too. its about the mind controlling the body and not the body controlling the mind. that is what fasting helps you do

Yeah bro I do agree, but for me I just wasn’t able to get through it without large amounts of caffeine and nicotine. Also the kombucha has small amounts of alcohol which provide a little bit of a lift. Then again there’s something at the back of my mind saying that all the antioxidants and probiotics from the coffee and tea are providing their own benefits. But it was mostly about weight loss for me.

As I said, just get through the living hell of the first 4-5 days, then the next 5 become easy as piss.
yeah usually the 2nd/3rd day is toughest. then your appetite dissapears once you get into a deep ketosis. then the challenge becomes hydrating enough since you will be pissing out way more then you are bringing in since your body is pissing out all that body fat and it has to do it some way and since your bowels are frozen up pissing is the only efficient way. thats the worst part for me. having to piss 24/7.

I actually like pissing while fasting. Because it’s so yellow and smells like oil, its gives me motivation that the fast is working and im losing a lot of weight. I wouldn’t say I piss a lot though.

Well my thinking is that Ive lost so much fat at once that its somehow entangled one of my nerves to my arm since the fat that was holding it up isn’t there anymore.
