Hi guys,

So a lot of PM'S I have received as of late are about Macros and what they are. Also how to use them for the bodybuilder diet. It's already complicated subject and every day I learn something new.

I wanted to post a couple links to general intros for all the members to take a look at if it's something that intrests you.

Again it's a great basic intro. It's a lot to understand but a very useful tool the more you familiarize yourself.

If you need any help supporting the bro's, Jrbdallas, I'm here to offer my assistance. This area is certainly one of my strong points :).
 
I run three meal plans per week depending on the workout day and off day. I'd never keep up if I didn't track macros. It's more important than throwing iron imo
 
There's no point in running gear if you don't at least have somewhat of a grasp on diet. Unless you just want to be a huge bear of a dude and eat everything in sight with no regard for aesthetics, you need to learn the basics lol.

Honestly man maybe 30 minutes if you have everything added up. I also go a step further and have everything structured out on a white board too. Kinda redundant but I like that kinda shit. It's very simple to handle.

Easiest way to start is download my fitness pall. Go about your normal day regular diet. Scan or add each food depending on mean into the app and then at the end of the day look at the nutrition graph. See where you land. Usually a huge eye opener.

I agree. Once you get everything set up, and get into the habit of things, it doesn't take much time at all. Kind of becomes second nature.

Great post. One thing I want to touch on with the topic of macronutrients is IIFYM (If it fits your macros).

A macronutrient is not a macronutrient. Each macronutrient (protein, carbohydrate and fat) is broken up into smaller sub groups. The source of the macronutrient will vary what the subgroups are made of. For example, a gram of protein from say chicken will be comprised of very different amino acids then a gram of protein from say, soy.

That's why it's not only important to track your macronutrients, but the food sources of the macronutrients as well. How much you eat is very important, but equally important is WHAT you eat.

Diet is ALWAYS most important no matter what your training goals are!!!! Now it's easier then ever to track macros accurately! Multiple phone/moble device apps that do nearly all the work for you! Like others have eluded to, you're wasting your time and gear if you're not hitting your macros!

Diet > Training > Recovery > Gear.

Now if only I could get all the young guys to believe the above flowchart haha.
