I'd agree with you if I was able to see the future when I first came into training. It never occurred to me that I'd end up doing what I do.

Equally it's a little added over a long period of time. When you do the percentages the bigger numbers are, at the most, 5-10% more than before. And it's just a small mental shift to think a little 'bigger'.

Heck, I'll go as far as saying that SOME (many don't want to be that big, strong etc... but some do) hold themselves back by almost being scared of it. Almost (we touched on this on one show) 'a fear of success'. Finally the internet shows us all pics etc of people WAY bigger and stronger. 100's if not 1000's of them lol. That 'normalizes' it somewhat. I'm not looking to stay 336-340lbs. It'll be temporary

A buddy of mine has been doing a similar cycle these past few weeks and has gone from 178lbs to an all time high of 210. That's up 32lbs!

120kg x 8 reps, 220kg x 8 reps, 340kg/748lbs x 4 reps

Leg Press
200kg x 10 reps, 400kg x 10 reps, 690kg/1518lbs

Lying Leg Curl*
8p x 8 reps, 17p x 8 r/p reps

Leg Extensions*
Stack x 10 reps, stack x 1 leg x 7L and 8R legs

*spent way too long BS-ing with a buddy between the first and 2nd sets

Road testing the F8 Widowmaker: I don't usually train Wednesdays but I've a tiny bit of work to do Friday and I bench then and didn't wanna be time limited so...

Anyway. In a chat with the late Julia Mills I'd asked how much a difference this triple ply slingshot would make to sleeve only 1RM (202.5kg right now). Approx 80kg. So I did my usual warm ups then did a quick n easy 180kg with my Maddog single ply. Then the F8 went on and with Nathan and Gareth Parkman spotting me of we went.

With this on I couldn't unrack the bar. And I had to get Nathan to yank on my left hand and pull it into position with both hands a few inches wide than my norm. All new for me I always unrack myself and use a kind of close grip. Slingshots force the bar lower down than normal (more belly than the bottom of my sternum).We tried 200, 220 and 240kg and at no point did the bar actually touch my chest lol. I think it's gonna be 260 or 270kg to get it to my chest. And it's gonna be 280 or even 300kg benched for one 'equipped' with this bit of kit.

People are lucky to do even 2 or 3 plates.
