850kg/1870lbsGod help us hahahawhat’s the heaviest you have leg pressed @Mobster?
The local gym had more 25kg plates then and so I could get 700 or 705kg on it. And then 'Brownie' aka Chris Brown a 150kg/330lbs lifter climbed on it. Just a few reps for the giggles. I could do more now. Heck, I could have done 700kg yesterday (I'll be there in 3 weeks max). If I win the lotto I'll buy a 4 pin machine from Watson - takes 1000kg/2200lbs
It's worth being clear on three points.
1) It's all relative. I squat a load so I ought to be able to leg press a load. I mean I sat, tight, onto a bench with 700lbs+ in the Hatfield Squat. I'm only leg pressing double. And I'm well over 300lbs etc with 45 years lifting.
2) How I do it. I have the exact same leg press at home - I mean EXACT (just a diff color). On mine I put a big foam pad on the back rest and, as I do at the commercial gym, on the super heavy sets I push off of the safeties (I mean who's gonna save me with 600kg?). I'd actually argue I have a better range of movement at home. My foot position means I'm pushing from where my legs/knee etc are at a right angle. I can and have gone deeper (I let it sit me in the hole with 420kg a few years back and repped it).
IF I was a bodybuilder I'd actually use less. Like no more than 400kg probably. But DEEP, slow and circa 20 reps. I'd also switch up between 1 and 2 legged presses and different food positions
There's a vid of me doing reps with 765kg circa 2005-2010 on my old YT account
