How many of you guys on evo are using Modafinil? have you used it? It's an interesting drug, as it's a stim and a fat loss aid in bodybuilding, but it's mainly used for alertness in the mainstream world. Want to know more about Modafinil? read on:

I have some that I'm going to be using soon.
So I'll report back and let you Guys know what my Impressions are on this................................... JP
P.S.
JackSteel - thanks for the info on the Active Life - means I'll be taking this as soon as I get up.

I use modafinil pretty regularly.. I've used both modalert by Sun and modvigil by Hab. Def don't take it less than 10-12 hours before you plan to hit the sack. You don't get all jumped up and jittery like on normal stims, for me it seems to only stim my mind not my body. So while my body would be run down my mind would be running a mile a minute staring at the ceiling. Any of you thinking of trying modafinil I would def get yourself a quality choline supp to go with it. It helps to stave off the most common side effect of modafinil, the modafinil headache. It's a low level headache that can last from hours to days I've heard. And from what I've read it seems to be a result of depleted supply of acetylcholine in the brain. Seems the mod forces you to burn through it more quickly. (I am no expert on this, this is just what I have read on a few modafinil sites) also it seems that modafinil makes me and a lot of other people (by what I've read on some boards) more sensitive to caffeine. So just be mindful of that possibility. I do notice that I get a pretty good appetite suppressant effect from Mod.

Also, there is some debate it seems as to whether our bodies build a tolerance to modafinil. I think we do. I started initially at a 100mg dose (half a pill) after about 2 weeks I wasn't feeling much at all and had to bump it up to 200mg. And after awhile I moved up to the max daily dose of 300mg. After that I take a week or 2 off to get it out of my system and I can move back down again.

And one more thing to put out there, the most recent version of this drug is out called armodafinil. It is more potent mg for mg and the tablets are 150mg instead of 200mg. But because of the alterations to the drug they now claim that it does not interfere with sleep patterns. Sounds great but I have not used it yet. I definitely plan on using it soon.

I've been on modafinil before for delayed sleep phase disorder (basically my internal clock as per my doc is 25hrs long) and I can say that I agree with araris 100% in terms of tolerance and caffeine sensitivity. I developed a tolerance to it quite quickly and had to keep going up in dose for the wakefulness. One thing I'll mention is that at some point, while it keeps you up, you aren't really alert and this is rather annoying. Furthermore, this awake/not fully alert state can persist till bedtime especially at higher doses and this creates a vicious cycle of insomnia-->all day non alert wakefulness--> insomnia... get my point. In terms of appetite, I did notice slight appetite suppression in the beginning but I overcame that quickly. As with any drug that increases alertness by messing with your hitamine, epinephrine or dopamine synapses, a gaba agonist or cholinergic is necessary to slow down tolerance. A little TMI but I hope this helps

It's Good to Hear 1st Hand Reports from as Many Guys as possible.
Thanks to Araris & Phoenix for sharing their Experiences................................... JP
P.S.
I was really on the Fence as to what Dose to start with.
Seems for me 100 Mg will be just fine.

I'd also like to point out for any of you guys that have girlfriends who would want to jump on the modafinil bandwagon whether for alertness or the nootropic properties (that I have not experienced). Modafinil reduces the efficacy of hormonal birth control. Which is most of them. Apparently modafinil increases the effectiveness of the enzyme (CYP3A4/5) that metabolizes hormonal birth control. So the potency of the birth control is diminished significantly. Figured I should put that out there.

this is not a drug to fuck around with just cause you need to stay awake

military and LE will use it to stay alert and awake for their jobs, but in their case we are talking life or death

i have a buddy who is a scout sniper......his use for it and ours are totally different. remember that.

I used it for a long time to the point it never worked unless i dosed it more and more.
If you can get along without it ,then it would be for anybody best interest to try something else .Shits high as hell at the pharmacy.

I've used modafinil 200mg every morning for 2 months now and all I have noticed is mental clarity, better focus, and that I am more awake but not anything that resembles a stimulant effect, even when I take it with caffeine, just the normal caffeine response. Im pretty tolerant to caffeine tho so maybe those who don't drink 4-6 cups of coffee a day might notice it more. It does not help with my workouts or diet or physical energy levels. I sleep just fine and I haven't noticed any change in sleeping patterns or a tolerance to the drug or headaches. It has really helped with concentration and focus during the day.

I hear you man, everyone responds to drugs differently. Unfortunately not everyone falls within that EC50 for pharms. Sucks

I was very lucky, seems to be perfect for me but you're 100 percent right on sides, tolerance and effectiveness , partic when dealing with psychoactive drugs. I think JP is right on with starting at 100. You can always increase your dose. Lowest effective dose is always the safest.

Very interesting topic.. I don't think stims are for everyone, and I hate to say it but I would like to actually try this one out
