if you are a newb i am a big believer in sticking to the 10 big compound lifts, however you MUST do them with proper form and leave the ego at home.
when i see some 20 year old at the gym deadlifting 400 pounds using every aid imaginable and using horrible form with bent spine i cringe at the damage he is doing to his discs. it is pointless because you are getting WEAKER not stronger
