@SFDom415 I'm not actually support to talk about 'recs' on EVO but this is a medical case, so I'll do a short write up for you below:

The topic of using substances like ketamine or psilocybin mushrooms (often referred to in the context of "microdosing") for therapeutic purposes is quite intriguing and has been the subject of increasing research and discussion in recent years (I personally studied it on and off). These substances are believed by some researchers to offer potential benefits for certain mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD, through mechanisms that might include the repair or growth of neuronal connections, among other effects. The theory you mentioned about repairing worn-out connections in the brain aligns with some of the hypotheses being explored in scientific studies. (I will cite a few studies below)

Ketamine, for instance, has been approved in a nasal spray form for treatment-resistant depression in the United States, indicating a level of recognition for its therapeutic potential under specific conditions. Similarly, research into psilocybin mushrooms has shown promising results for depression and anxiety, especially in cases where patients have not responded well to traditional treatments.

The conversation around microdosing, particularly with psilocybin, often includes anecdotal reports of improved mood, creativity, and cognitive function, yet scientific research in this area is still in the early stages.

Studies on the topic:
Ketamine for Depression:

A study published in the "American Journal of Psychiatry" in 2019 found that ketamine significantly reduced depression symptoms in patients who had not responded to at least two other forms of treatment. The study highlighted ketamine's rapid action in alleviating symptoms, often within hours or days, which is a significant advantage over traditional antidepressants that may take weeks to become effective. Psilocybin for Depression and Anxiety:

Research published in "The New England Journal of Medicine" and "JAMA Psychiatry" in 2020 presented findings from a randomized controlled trial comparing psilocybin with a conventional antidepressant (escitalopram) for the treatment of depression. The study found that psilocybin was as effective as escitalopram in reducing depression symptoms, suggesting it could be a viable alternative treatment. Additionally, a 2016 study in the "Journal of Psychopharmacology" found that a single dose of psilocybin significantly reduced depression and anxiety symptoms in cancer patients, with effects lasting up to six months. Mechanisms of Action:

Studies investigating the mechanisms by which ketamine and psilocybin exert their effects suggest that both substances may promote neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to form new neural connections—potentially explaining their therapeutic benefits. Ketamine, for instance, has been shown to increase the levels of a neurotransmitter called glutamate, which then stimulates the growth of synapses, essentially rewiring parts of the brain that are involved in mood regulation. Psilocybin appears to decrease activity in the brain's default mode network, a network thought to play a role in self-referential thoughts and the ego, which could be why it's effective in treating conditions like depression and anxiety. did my extra work out AND went for a hike Lands End -Sea cliff mansions and baker beach full length and back. I did not climb the sand ladder.

—Therapist assignment was a joy list. I realized all week I couldn’t make one was cuz I don’t know what it is. Everything I come up with is pleasure not joy. But then walking my beach, with the headlands across and gg bridge and the pounding surf and the happy San Franciscans and dogs and the sunset I’d seen a million times I realized in that moment that I didn’t want to be anyone else. I didn’t want to be anywhere else and didn’t want to do anything else. There was the joy. That’s what it is. It was a sudden emotional moment🙀 ( il blame daddy Tren)
So I’m waking with moist eyes when I came across more joy. lol 3 pretty Latin queens doing a speedo photo shoot… all stopping to watch me walk by. So I made a point to tell them “ it all looked good to me “ which got a very positive response. And then the looks back over the shoulder. I should have turned around and went back but, I’m almost out if trimix🤣.

Then I was cold and hungry and tired and wound up at our fav Italian place in the castro So good. Yes I had pasta But with spicy sausage and big meatballs full of protein. ( my other food today was eggs and black beans .
Considering how much activity today plus a big session tomorrow I think it was acceptable ( fresh everything)

so many pics I don’t know how to narrow them down. But I’ll try to give the best overall idea of how amazing this place is.
I was thinking of all of you the entire time. ( except that one pretty moment😈)

Yes Sir 😜feel less prone to injury doing lighter weight high rep as well when trainer isn’t there. had a lot more in the tank but without someone standing there making me do it I won’t push.

Down ocean beach… up and around the lands end cliffs, through the sea Cliff neighborhood down to Baker. You can keep going up sand ladder or past the nude area yhfn iver ggd ticks tk tbd other nude are snd up the trails to gh brush’s. It never ends. You can make it an all day hike.

I should not have done the extracurricular work out yesterday cuz it messed up my session with trainfer today and now my left arm is F-kd up and I could even finish my incline dumbells. Plus I was tired.

I’m effing livid with this tired junk useless old body. If better heal in time for my Thursday session. I’m finally on a roll I don’t need oain messing things up

Every damn time I turn around it’s some new pain.

Goals
I don’t know I’m just really hungry. 😡 I’ll eat my ration.


I can’t bare lift my left arm now.

Oh well deep breathe.

I’m running out of iCloud storage🤣

I do like the compression but it wasn’t worth the 100 bucks there are loose threads and I question the quality if this brand. WYRM
