Day 24

My life has gotten infinitely better in the past few days since getting my license back. One of my favorite things to do is to get out in nature and hike, there are so many great trails in Central FL and hiking weather is here! Saturday morning the temperature was in the low 60s and I was on the trail at 6am.

Black Bear Wilderness is an awesome 7mi loop that runs along the St John's River here in Sanford, it's one of my favorite spots. Theres a lot of little elevation changes and roots to look out for so it makes for a technical, engaging experience. It was pitch black for the first 45min or so with only a headlamp to light my way which makes for a somewhat eerie experience and keeps your head on a swivel so it's a bit of a rush which I love.

Several times I heard the cracking of underbrush and the huge splash of what was undoubtedly a large gator that got spooked by my presence, there are some massive ones out there! I came across 9 hogs while I was out there, a couple big ole boys that I almost ran right into! They paid me no mind but are definitely intimidating and could fuck you up if they wanted to.

I try and project a positive vibe while I'm out there and I believe that animals are able to perceive energy and intention but I still carry a Glock 36 just in case, I would hate to have to use. I ran into a guy that had bear mace and I don't know why I've never thought of that, it's a great non-lethal deterrent that I'm definitely going to invest in.

Felt so good to be back in my element out there, nothing clears my mind and centers me more than being alone in nature.

I fell in love with photography a couple years back, my cousin is an amateur photographer and I learned alot from going out with him and shooting landscapes, my favorite thing to shoot, particularly sunrises. The thing I love most about photography is that it causes me to be completely present, something that is so hard to come by in this day and age when we are constantly distracted and over stimulated. My moments spent alone is the early morning are some of my most precious, they have helped me sort through alot over the past few years, it can be a very cathartic experience. Below are some shots that I took yesterday on my hike.

It was my girl's birthday this week and i took her and her daughter and my nephew to this awesome arcade here in Oviedo, the place is huge with everything you could imagine. They're all into that stuff, I'm not one to sit at home and play video games but I love a good arcade. I try and spend alot of time with my nephew, he's an amazing kid with a huge heart. He's been getting bullied alot in school lately and I feel bad for him, he's his own unique person like myself, dresses differently and doesn't fit into the status quo. We used to practice jiu-jitsu together before I got in trouble, now that I have my license again I told him we are going to get back into it. I'm hoping he can make some good friends who will be a positive influence on him.

Anyways, I've been craving some greasy bar food and got exactly what I wanted at the arcade, a double quarter pounder, some chicken wings and loaded fries. Finished the night off with a couple of slices from mellow mushroom. All in all I did pretty good and didn't deviate from the plan toooo much lol.

I hope y'all dont mind hearing some non-bodybuilding related stuff, enjoy sharing things on here about life in general that don't always have to pertain to bodybuilding, thank y'all for being a part of my life.

As somebody who lives in Grizzly Bear territory, I’d only encourage you to practice with bear spray before you decide to rely on it. You can get inert cannisters to use, and it is worthwhile, because you have to have a good idea of how quickly you can access it, and what the spray cloud actually looks like.

Thats a good call! Thanks for the advice!

Day 25

Got into the actual gym for the first time in a while this morning, crushed an awesome push workout, felt great! Shoulder is 100& again thankfully.

Spent the day on the St. John's River with my lifelong brother, docked at Blue Springs and snorkeled the run, great day. We've been going to that spring and snorkeling our entire lives.

When we were young we would free dive down 60+ feet into the boil. There's little cave sections you can swim through and grab handfuls of dirt that hasn't been disturbed for millenia, we used to find prehistoric shark teeth in there all the time.

A long, long time ago, when FL was covered in water, these springs would have been like little reefs that served as nurseries for sharks and other sea creatures. Pretty amazing actually! Florida is such an amazing place and will always have my heart.

A day in the sun in FL wouldn't be complete without Pub subs, I opted for the spinach wrap. I feel sorry for y'all that don't live where there's Publix lol.

Diet was a little fucky this weekend but nothing that I feel guilty about. Dialing back in this week!
