This is husband’s chihuahua, Natasha, he had for 14 years. She was rescued from a SoCal puppy mill. We had to let her go last month after a battle with cancer. We let her hang on for as long as possible but finally had to have the lady come out to the house. She was the coolest vet ever. All of us sat on the bed together with Natasha. It’s that step by step process. The worst part was seeing my husband in that much gut wrenching pain as he and the lady wrapped Natasha up in the little blanket. I never want to see him go through that ever again. You realize so many things in those moments. We got her ashes back and will place her in our columbarium niche with my dad, until we all eventually move in.
