Age: 39
Hight: 6'
Weight: 240lbs
BMI: 30%
Experience: 20 years.
Cycle: 1st
Goal: Lean & vascular adding size primarily on arms and legs while minimizing risk and side effects.
Experience: Been training since high school, got very serious with it through my 20s into my 30s and then, due to low T issues and not knowing where to turn for help, I lost my drive and discipline after doing the gym grind for so long and not being able to maintain much muscle mass. Always struggled to keep the fat off, especially belly fat. So, been off and on and less serious over the last 5 years or so. Got serious about it again about a year ago when I met a friend that shed some light on how to get help with my hormones.
So, recently was put on TRT at a clinic. But Doc is hesitant too move me up past 100mg cyp a week. Which isn't doing much at all. Recent blood work showed elevated cholesterol before starting TRT which I am currently addressing naturally and it has improved. I was also prescribed tirzepatide and I'm currently at 7.5mg dose and I'm down 25lbs. Been going real hard since January 1st. Not that I wasn't paying attention prior to the new year. This year is just when I pulled out all the stops.
Diet: January 1st 2024 I got very strict with diet. Started high protein, whole meats and veggies, no processed food, 0 alcohol, low carb, no sweetener, nothing artificial. Small amounts of fruit occasionally, I try to stick to berries and fruits that have low impact on Insulin. 1/2 of a sweet potato with dinner once or twice a week focusing on building insulin sensitivity and getting the weight down right now. I push for 150- 200 grams of protein a day and try to hover around 2000-2200 calories a day. Intermittent fasting seemed to work best for me. I typically eat in a 3-4 hour window a few hours before bedtime. I have only had 1 cheat meal in 2024. It was on my birthday and it was a massive prime rib and sweet potato with a few pita chips with cheese.
Workout: cardio 3 days a week. 2 days I do 30mins-60mins of fast walk on an incline and monitor heart rate and keep it around 130 140BPM. One of my cardio days I do HIT cardio, usually running on the treadmill. Some times I throw in push-up with that.
Weight lifting was consisting of a 5 day split mostly compound workouts. Chest, Back, Legs, Shoulder, Core and cardio.
However. The volume and time spent left me feeling like it was time to get back to some muscles before it was on the schedule so I switched it up to a push/pull/legs split and I'm liking that a better. I shoot for failure around 10-12 reps. Sometimes do rest pause sets. Recently I started throwing an arm day in if the energy, rest and recovery was feeling right. This seems to get me back to the muscle group as soon as it's not sore anymore.
Sleep: always been an early riser. I go to bed early and focus on 8.5 hours of sleep minimum every single night. Sleep was still trash until last year when I was put on a CPAP. The addition of a new expensive mattress has me sleeping like a baby for 8+ hours every single night. Eliminating alcohol made a drastic difference here as well.
Supplements:
Creatine 5mg a day
Tadalafil (sublingual) 5mg a day pre-workout
High dose vitamin D with K2 (Dr prescribed due to extremely low levels in recent blood work).
CoQ10 Ubiquino 500mg
Berberine
Red Rice yeast
Liver support complex with NAD+
Fish oil
Magnesium
Zinc
Niacin
Milk fissell
Planed Cycle: I go back next week for blood work to review with Dr. My intention is to try to get him to raise me to 200mg test cyp/week. If he won't then I will do it myself with the assistance of this forum and the sites mentioned here. If he is willing to raise me to 200mg test cyp /week, once I level out, I would like to raise myself to 300mg test cyp/week and stay there. I would like to settle into the results that produces and then, considering adding 200mg of Deca and possibly 30mg of anavar to that later tword the end of the year for 8 weeks or so. Was also considering peptides like sermorelin or other similar peptides for the GH.
Goals: I'm not a pro, I'm not competing. I just don't want to be average. I want to be lean, vascular, bulk my arms and legs a bit and do it with lower risk and lower side effects. I'm already bald so not worried about hair loss. I'm not having anymore kids and my balls are already too big so I'm not worried about them shrinking so not at all concerned about those side effects.
Questions: 1) Doc has me on SubQ test cyp. I realize if I want to go up and add to it I will likely need to do IM injections so I did my first IM injection Sunday. Was seemingly no different than SubQ. I used the same test 200 cyp pharma grade prescribed by my Doc that says "For IM injections" on the lable. I did it in my thigh with no pain at time of injection. The next day I noticed soreness and by the end of the 2nd day my whole leg, knee to hip was sore as hell! No lump at injection site, no bruse or swelling. Just felt like I had been kicked by a horse. Seems to be going away now. Is it gonna be like that for all IM injections? Could I have done something wrong?
2) is it important to aspirate? (Draw back to make sure there is no blood to insure I'm not in a vain) I have seen some instruct you to do so and I have seen some not instrut you to do so. Was told the glute is less soreness after but can't reach back there to hold it steady while I draw back and all that. Glute injection would be easy if I didn't need to do that.
I'm new to the whole forum concept so I apologize ahead of time if the is not put together in the best order or format or if I missed details. Just the fact that I got the post up here in the right spot (I think?) Is a big deal for me. Any input or advice very much welcome.
Thanks ahead if time
