Post workout smoothie/shake

I'm looking to get more out of my workouts and I was hoping you could give me some tips as far as drinking a smoothie or a protein shake after I'm done
my gym just put in a new bar so a lot of guys go there after their workouts to boost their protein. they have a lot of different options which one do you suggest I get if you had to choose something for me to grab?
 
one of the biggest scams of all time is the whole post workout smoothie. you actually make it HARDER on your body to recover with a smoothie. why? cause if you throw 20 different things at your body at once that stresses your body out and that takes away from your recovery and repair. the science has been twisted by supplement companies to make it seem like you need a smoothie post workout. its bullshit. the best thing you can do after a workout? get the fuck out of your bodies way and take a nap or rest. the worst thing? hard labor and throwing stressful food at your body

So If you happen to train inside your eat window will you eat at all post workout? If you happened to workout at like 5pm and finished around 645pm would you eat rest of night if you wanted to gain weight and muscle or just fast til next day?

make a protein shake before you go to the gym, dont use a smoothie

in that schedule my biggest meal would be mid day. i would make sure i evacuated before my early evening workout and then after i would eat a easy to digest meal. something like chicken breast, fruit, brocolli and rice. or eggs and fruit. just keeping it simple. nothing heavy on the stomach or something my body needs to work hard to digest. and then making sure i am in bed by 10pm and getting atleast 7-8 hours of sleep.

when on cycle i like to train mornings early, then come home and take an hour nap then go to work. that really helps my body recover from my workout

if i am cutting hard i have no issues training later in the day and then eating nothing after, just hydrating myself after. nice way to cut down

Good info my brother. I always have my biggest meals early in the day. I train about 5pm and usually eat chicken and broc after workout
