Okay, so I thought it would be cool to have a place for guys that like to lift freaky heavy weights. Talk about goals, motivate each other, talk about prs, bench shirts, whatever !! Mods, if this is not okay, please feel free to delete.

I will start it off, since I have been back training hard, I really haven't been trying to lift heavy, but I am an old powerlifter, so the form comes natural. I guess the cooler weather makes me feel a little stronger. Today was back day, and DEADLIFTS !!!

So, I warmed up with 225 for a couple sets of 10, 315 for a set of 8, 405 for 4, and just to see if I could still pull decent, I snatched 460 off the ground two times without problem. This is at a bodyweight of 208. three weeks from now, I want to pull 500.

Post up guys represent !!!

Use the old conjugate to increase strength. You know that brotha. 460 ain't nothing to shake a stick at though, that's still some heavy ass weight. You will be right back where you want to be in no time bro. I want to lift real heavy then I look at Ronnie and it gives me pause.

The conjugate before anyone asks is 50% for 1 week then 60% then 70% until you get to 100% rm. By the time you get back to 50% week your 50% max should in theory increase by 5-10% conservatively. This is how the new guys train at westside barbell.

I use chains and bands for resistance. seems to help, but then again, I haven't really been training for strength. I have been trying to get a little leaner, but I am losing unwanted weight and getting stronger, that's a good thing !!!

I will start incorporating some strength gaining exercises now that I am getting on track with cardio and leaning out. also the fact I don't feel like an obese whale.

Been training for a meet in April. It'll be my first. Looking forward to seeing what I can do. I'm hoping to compete at 165lbs and have a 1260 total. Still have a little ways to go to get there though. Right now I'm bout 150lbs short. Need to bring my bench up.

Have you tried using boards? or making adjustments to your form? do you have any "seasoned powerlifters" to guide you? Raw meet or equipment ? lots of variables post up more details, maybe we can help you on that bench some. A good shirt will add 70-80 pounds if not more in my experience. I might even have some old classic ones around I could donate !!

How much do you deadlift?

No one around to help me. I train alone in my garage.

It'll be a raw meet. I have been working on my form. Arching my back more and bringing the bar down lower on my chest. It's still a work in progress for sure.

I haven't tried board presses. I tried something similar using the rack pins.

I really need to get my form dialed in though. I think that's my biggest problem at the moment.

What your totals on the lifts? Bench was always my strong point.

At 165 weight class (raw weighed in at 150.5lbs).

Bench - 285
Squat - 380
Deadlift - 405

That was with about a month of prep, I never really trained for the meets, just showed up and did my best.

I could post some how to videos on bench, just did 405 with two second count for 1 at 210 lbs about a month ago.

Just let me know!

Yeah Myth, I'm always down to learn. Post them up.

Right now my bench is at 245. Squat 405 and pull 450. I need to hit 300 bench.

I'll get some pics and videos in the coming days. Dead and squat are good, weight in as close to 165 as u can then I always loved carb loading after. I left a lot of strength and lift numbers on the table when I competed because I weighed 150 and was in the 16( class when I could of been in the 148 class or been heavy at 163-165 which would of privies further strength gains.

I'd think the following numbers would be good:

1.) deadlift 475
2.) squat 420
3.) bench 300

Then you would be set, those are good numbers.

Ok cool. I would be happy with those numbers. I have plenty of time to improve though and my squat is still climbing on a regular basis. I spent the first part of my days goofing around and not squatting or doing much legs for that matter so I'm still working on fresh muscle. Just started squatting in January. It was my New Years resolution lol

Recorded myself and felt like my grip was a little narrow. Widened it about a half inch on each side and hit 265lbs this morning!
