POWERLIFTERS' CORNER !!! post your PRS, Goals, Techniques, Apparel, ETC !!!!

Reading this I couldn't touch some of these numbers. You think your strong and then...but I'm getting there.

Personal PR's set while on Test E/anavar cycle a few months back...

Deadlift: 535 lbs
Squat: 455 lbs
Bench(decline): 365lbs x 2(second one was from a dead stop on chest, popped my left pec...was really mad cause it was going up really easy)

This was at between 195-200 lbs at the time

There are some bodybuilders out there that are real strong. Arnold, Ronnie, Mike Ohearn etc... Strength was/is the foundation of a lot of the greats.

Has anyone heard of Brad Castleberry? I stumbled upon him on Instagram. He calls himself the manimal and is freaky strong.

Those are respectable numbers for that body weight !!!

The big three will definitely add mass and thickness !! Especially DEADLIFT !! it is an overall strength gainer. Conditions the core. If you do them in a repetition style manner with fairly heavy weight, it is quite exhausting.

I'm 6 foot 4, 275lbs

I deadlifted 500 barefoot the other day, I didn't feel good about it. I grabbed the bar and got into proper form, I went up with it and felt like I was using more of my back , but I got the bar off the ground a little bit. I remember thinking , fuck this is heavy, fuck it, it's going up, I'm not putting it down, and I went on up with it. It was my new 1 rep max, I'd like to be able to dead 600 by summertime...just have to have 2 vicious leg days a week til then, squats, deads, leg press, calves, bulgarian lunge, leg curls, and ham machine, 4 sets on everything, I do the calves superset style after most leg exercises, but not all of them.

when I watched a video of my deadlift on 500, my form looked like shit, I used my back too much and not my butt, but it looked weird - i was in position to use my butt but went up with my back more, oh well at least I didn't get hurt.

I know what you mean bro, I have a tendency to do that as well when I go heavier...what actually helped me quite a bit was watching Elliott Hulse Strength Camp videos where he teaches proper deadlift form...get down and tense your entire body like you are pressing it down in a coil, then when you start the movement let it uncoil and you will almost force yourself to be in the proper form and it will feel a lot easier to lift...

Its a lot easier if you watch the video of it as you will see what he is talking about...

Any tips for retracting the scaps. I find it hard and awkward retracting them and then reaching for the bar while keeping them retracted.

Daamn bro...I'm jealous of those extra 30-35 lbs you got on me...I've often wondered how much I could get up with more weight on me...

Ur unracking and moving quite a distance in order to position urself for the lift, exposing ur shoulder quite a bit.

I would suggest sliding back on the bench and also adjusting rack to 2-3 inch below full lockout(scap retracted) lockout for starters.
