Friday : Abs / Curls / Travel gym

We flew out Thursday evening. I did do some gym hunting prior to arrival. Hotel had dumb bells and some tread mills. 24/7. My window for the workout is still 4AM to 8AM. Hotel gym is 24/7. Called one of the local gyms. They have key fobs for members for 24/7 access but have hours for visitors starting at 9am-7pm or so. That was just not going to meet my window. Turns out the U of Iowa Student Rec Center is open to public for $12 daily pass. Opens at 5:30AM.

So, I woke up at 4AM, got ready headed over to hotel gym warmed up with some core and ab work. Left the gym around 5:15 or so. Dark and snowing outside, turning into slush as it hits the ground. As I got closer to the gym, it was quite a scene. All these people bundled up for the cold heading in the same direction on line. Very much like a March of the penguins. Very impressive turn out. The student body is disciplined and jacked. There were some ROTC, students, and folks like me.

3 floors, indoor walking track, pools. Several racks. I was in heaven. Did not have much time and given the new machines, I just kind of had fun doing a similar Friday workout.

I really enjoyed the visit. It's ultimately my daughter's decision. We shall see what she chooses. I was good with the diet on Thursday. However Friday, at lunch we had access to a buffet meal at the cafeteria. Decent, not great food, but I did try several things. Definitely went off the diet plan. Later that evening at the airport, there was not much food at CID. So, I did do some snacky snacks. I will have to be a little better next week as I will out all week in NJ.

I was little tired today from yesterday's walking and travel. Did not get to bed til 11:30 or so. Was just happy to get my normal routine in. Nothing special, just one day at a time.

I would say feeling better, but I had daylight savings time, especially the Spring forward. I always feel like I am running behind and I have lost an hour. I did do my typical chest/shoulder routine. Yesterday for efficiency sake, I just had the Korean high protein bowl for dinner. This evening, had to run by and get groceries. So pre-cooked some ground beef 96/4, 3 portions and used one portion for bell pepper/onion/beef mix with avocado on the side.

Feels good to be back on my normal meals. Have blood work scheduled for this Friday. So will be a fasting day.

Eating a sweet potato mixed in with ground beef 96/4, bell peppers, onions, and 2 eggs. I really am enjoying this meal. I break out my 1lb ground beef to 3 portions so about 5.5 oz.

Slept a little late and got up at the regular time. I hat the time change but it what it is. I did not seem to drag and had a great back work out.
Did my usual, Seemed to move thru the motions a little faster than usual. Weight seems a little lower. Not sure if I am just dehydrated or missing meals. Maybe some fat loss?

Mostly starting to prep for next week, Out from Sat to Sat. Not sure about gym, I'm sure plenty of walking but limited gym time. I will take my Sat injections and skip the Tues/Thurs/Sat injections. Will resume on Sunday when I return. Looking to structure the trip as deload. Hoping to stay reasonable on diet. There are 2 schools we are waiting on. If she gets in we will likely take a visit. One is in Amherst,MA, the other in Oberlin, OH.
It's been a fun experience. She has great choices for landing spots. Need a decision by early April.

Will start shedding hair towards the end of the month.

@PrinceDaddy really amazing update I love the new place, interesting to see you really pushing it :D I think you can get down in weight when you back.
 
nice man, Iowa supposed to have some damn good colleges and i know a few really good wrestlers from school who went there.

Yeah, with the weather in Iowa. No doubt. You're gonna have some good indoor gyms.

Sweet Potato and ground beef. Sounds really interesting. Not sure. I have tried that one before.
 
That's really cool man that you're taking your daughter across the country for college. I'm sure she's eager to be away from home and a new adventure for her.

She has what you would call good to very good scores. Not excellent. We have been declined from 5 schools so far. Sometimes you just don't know what makes the cut when you are an edge case.

I have told her my only concern is get your degree. Not super concerned about reputation of school. Choose school for fit and success.
