Progesterone as a natural Anti-Estrogen/Hormonal Balancer?

Hey Beastly just curious, I've been reading a lot and see on a lot of websites to use only between 8-12mg everyday. Why would i use 22mg a day?

Well, it really depends on how "estrogenified" your body is, either from aromatising testosterone into estrogen or from Xenoestrogens which are much worse...

For me personally, 22 mg twice a day is working good...for you, it might be too much, but its better to start high and then taper down than start too low....there are virtually no sides from taking too much, some guys take 100 mg a day. The more estrogen/xenoestrogens you are dealing with the higher your initial dose should be, and then you can taper it lower from there.

Read about halfway down the page on the website below on "Progesterone for Men" for more detailed info and the how's and why's of doses...

How long have you been running the progesterone and what kind of benefits are you seeing? I'm interested in giving it a go myself, as I just got off cycle.

Been able lower my Aromasin dose and have not seen any estrogen related sides/symptoms that I was getting before...mainly HBP and neck/upper shoulder tightness related to HBP and adrenalin rushes that would sometimes last hours...those were the worst...

Lowered heart rate, less water/bloat, and absolutely rock hard viagra like erections...

Sounds like all positive things. I can't say I've come across progesterone in many lists. Is it easy to source?

Yes and Deca is a progesterone based steroid as well...

Progesterone Pro's(from what I read):

-Has a synergistic effect on Testosterone that enhances its muscle building effects, to the point some consider it a secondary male sex hormone

-Most potent known inhibitor of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme(DHT) via its metabolite 17-0H-progesterone. By blocking this enzyme it promotes higher T levels in the body while reducing male pattern baldness and prostate enlargement issues. Used in the treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) in men via a transscrotal delivery system.

-Antagonizes Estrogen via several mechanisms. It competes for the receptor with estrogen and regulates cell metabolism to promote the oxidative pathway preventing the conversion of the weaker Estrone into the stronger Estradiol.

-Increases the body's use of fat stores for energy

-Increases Libido

-Corrects ED via the same pathway as Viagara, enhancing NO production. A progesterone/testosterone cream was able to help correct the hormonal imbalance commonly found in men with erectile dysfunction

-Helps to normalize blood sugar levels

-Helps to normalize thyroid function

-Stimulates new bone formation

-Improves brain function and has anti-depressant properties

-Acts as a natural diuretic in opposition to estrogen's tendency to hold in water.

-Improves skin problems such as acne, rosacea, seborrhea and PSORIASIS

-Effective as a gyno treatment

-Diminishes muscle and joint aches and pains and has anti-inflammatory properties via activation of the p53 gene and increase in natural anti-inflammatory compounds IL-10 and TH-2 cytokines which suppress the pro inflammatory TH-1 cytokines. Also reduces the Natural Killer(NK) cells and other markers of inflammation in the body. Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMP) play a key role in inflammation--estrogen maintains secretion of these proteins while progesterone inhibits them. Reduces the expression of pro-inflammatory genes and their protein products.

-Prevents lipid peroxidation and confers vascular protection. It has an anti-atherogenic action by preventing the conversion of cholesterol into cholesteryl ester.

-Prevents vasoconstriction by increasing levels of nitric oxide (NO), which causes vasodilation allowing blood vessels to relax, and so widens them allowing more blood to flow through and it inhibits platelet aggregation.

-Helps with both depression and insomnia as it raises serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is our 'happy' neurotransmitter, it is also the precursor to melatonin (the 'sleep' hormone).

-Has a calming effect by activating the GABA receptor sites via its metabolite Allopreganolone. GABA is our most calming, inhibitory neurotransmitter and effective against some forms of epilepsy.

-Stimulates leptin secretion

-Acts indirectly to increase aldosterone by mechanisms similar to sodium restriction

-Promotes regeneration and myelination of axons

-Has a neuroprotective and antioxidant effect in injured nervous system

-Has multiple effects on glial cells

-The progesterone metabolite allopregnanolone reduces the brain's response to stress

Most of these are actually true, but here's a list of cons too (all medically proven):

-Most powerful smooth muscle relaxant in the body. Good for reducing blood pressure, but bad for the GI tract. Progesterone causes GI issues and has been shown to increase gallstones.
-It causes weight (fat) gain because it is an appetite stimulant
-It increases the risk of certain cancers
-It causes shrinkage in areas of the brain that deal with emotion and executive function (chronic use)

Everything sounds good but where i can buy it progesterone cream?

Gotta keep in mind all I am doing is restoring the proper balance in the body between progesterone and estrogen...I have very strong estrogenic tendencies and an autoimmune disease, which means almost with certainty I have extremely low progesterone levels

This progesterone is starting to make me extremely horny and my erections feel like they are going to burst it's so hard...I am really loving this shit!

I can't wait for that feeling because this ED is bullshit

Post cycle blues. Why do you think it's so easy to find cialis and Viagra on these lists, they work as well but they become a crutch! Hopefully progesterone will be my answer as well

I just got my progesterone from amazon...seems like the common dosing is 20mg per1/4 tsp...it looks like the max legal dose is about 30mg per 1/4tsp. If you want to go with a high dose, you've got to slather yourself in the stuff...I'm trying 20mg 2x a day, but I've read women can easily try upwards of 100mg. For that to make sense, I think you'd need a script from a compounding pharmacy for a more potent dose.

Very interesting read, I'll be following the progress of those using, so please keep us all informed on pros and cons. Thanks
