Injection-Sites-For-Intramuscular-Injections.jpg

brother trev...good info...nice especially for guys that dont know how to inject steroids properly....

This article turned out really well. I wish an article like this was available when I did my first injection. This article explains everything you need to do the injection, how to do the injection and where to inject.

I recommend beginners stick with the gluteus (a fancy word for your butt) as an injection site for their first cycle, since it is very hard to do something wrong there or hurt yourself. The gluteus is the most common injection site because it is a large deep muscle with few nerves and blood vessels. When doing injections in this area, it is a good idea to alternate butt cheeks for each injection, which should be done into the upper and outer region of the gluteus.

Yes I agree about using the glutes for your IM injection site.

My first couple of cycles I used my quads. It was easy to do, accessible and could be done whilst sitting down. The problems I encountered with using the quads were:-

1. Occasionally hitting a nerve, which although wasn't a huge deal, it always had me a little gun shy each time I went to inject, hoping I would miss the nerves.
2. Even though the injection never hurt, my quad would be sore the next day or two after injecting.

On my current cycle I have used my glutes (butt muscles) exclusively, and I never hit nerves anymore (lack of them in this area), and I am never left with any pain over the next few days. I have found glute injections pain free and very easy to do. Just divide one side of your butt into four sections, and aim to inject in the upper outer quadrant. You may have to twist a little bit, and do it standing up, but if I had of known how easy and painless it was, I would have done glute injections for the last few years. I never use the quads anymore. I just alternate between butt cheeks.

Thanks for the article Muskate. Very informative for beginners and veterans alike.

Great Article Trevor:
I would however Caution anyone that's new to injections, to avoid the Teardrop of the Quad (down by the knee).
That Shot can Cripple a Newbie, or anyone who doesn't have alot of Muscle Development in that area.

I use Quads all the time, and my Sweet-spot is.
2/3rds up from the Knee on the outside of the Quad.
1/2 down from the Top of the Quad, to the Notch at the Biceps Femoris.............................................................. JP
P.S.
Put your Thumb on top of your Quad, with your Middle Finger, feel for the Notch between the Muscles on the outside of the Quad (very noticeable).
Split that difference, that is your Location.
Once you've come up 2/3rds from the knee.

This is an absolutely fantastic article. It will really help new guys figure out exactly where they should be injecting. It is also nice for vets to check out new sites and get a handle on how to use them. This is exactly what I need personally. If you listen to our last podcast I mention that I have a hard time injecting quads. I think I was just hitting it too low. This article helped me to see that and I will be trying them again soon.

Glutes are always the easiest spot for many reasons. First of all, the area is quite big and you do not need to be very precise. Secondly, it can take up to 5 ml or so (depending on how big you are). So you wouldnt need to have few injection sites if you have a lot of oil to inject. Finally, even if it swells up or you get a bump, it wont be visible or impair you that much.

The gluteus are def the go to spot for anyone who is just beginning to use steroids. I tried inj my quads on my second cycle and all went well the first few times. However, one time I must have hit a nerve bc my entire leg swelled up including my knee. I couldn't bend my knee or use my right leg for nearly a week. Since then I have never pinned my quads. Believe me I injected the proper location just as I had done many times before it just so happened that I knicked something and caused quite a bit of damage. This is just a word of caution to those who have been pinning certain areas for quite some time. Just always take care with the area you are injecting.
