I'm trying to convince my wife of that now!!! We used to have two Weimaraner's and they were a handful though.
when 1 of my dogs died, i did not get a 2nd but i was working from home. i took her everywhere with me and she was rarely by herself and when i did i left the tv on.
if you leave the dog at home alone a lot a friend is a must. maybe even a cat would work. they are very social animals and will get depressed being left alone. they also have those big cameras now where you can check up on them and talk to them where they can kind of see you too as an image.
used to have a neighbor next door put their pit bull in a crate all day for 7-8 hours when they went to work. it would bark and cry the ENTIRE TIME. absolutely cruel. that dog needs a ton of attention and exercise. no way would i get a dog in that situation unless they are willing to put them in those doggie day care places all day
AGREE 100% they need a friend. My big dog was devestated to lose his brother. I couldnt leave him alone. now he has a new lil sister he loves to death
