If they dont contain sugar is it considered healthy ? Or are the chems bad in the bars ? They have all the macros but surely cant be good for us.

I've never saw any protein bar that contains zero sugar.
But to answer to your question almost anything is "healthy" in moderation.

We get these sort of questions on daily basis, is this healthy? Can I eat this? Can I eat that? Will I die if I eat too much of this?
Just use your common sense.

If you want to eat a protein bar every now and then. Go for it, you won't die, or at least it is very unlikely to happen...

Oh and I also want to mention one more thin. When companies come up with these new products with reduced [insert the word here] they always need to compensate that with something else. So if they for instance take take away all the sugar they have to replace this "deficit" with something (for whatever it might be) else because otherwise the product will taste like crap.

there are ingredients put into these bars that don't show up as sugar such as HFCS, hydrogenated oils, caramel color, etc etc that are just as bad (if not worse) for you and illicit an even worse response than

you always want to read the ingredients. but let's say that a bar has clean ingredients hypothetically, it is still processed right? and it is still pasteurized so it can sit there on the shelf at the supermarket for weeks and weeks right? hence it still isn't going to be healthy for you

protein bars and powders are a scam for the reasons above

if you want a snack then get some raw nuts or fruit

A lot of the sugar free protein bars contain other artificial fillers like sugar alcohols. Once in a while protein bars are fine but they shouldn't be a part of your regular diet
