Question for Coaches

willipede

V.I.P.

Looking for some guidance if anyone can recommend any sports/performance nutrition courses.

I'm looking to do some further education. And with so many poor quality "educators" I'm looking for recommendations

Thanks in advance

Look at nationally standardized schemes. Here in the UK that's be NVQ. There are levels. Most do a level 3 (coaching for example) but level 4 or above is better. In the US there's a TON of schemes but check for which allows you a state license. Ditto what most gyms require.

By way of example the top level stuff (diploma and degree) allows you to be (again here) a 'state registered' Nutritionist (meaning good to go UK wide)

Thanks mobster

Here in Aus it's pretty unregulated with clinical dietitian being the only course requiring a diploma

Nutritionists being a total free for all here. I'm happy to an international course if there's something worth while

I would start with basic reading before educators. start with overall conceptual reading, especially stuff you have access to like EVO:

I think Dr. Jason Fung has some excellent books. they are full of human studies

Try getting some books on nutrition.

A lot of them have a lot of information.

I like Mobsters suggestion above, he knows his stuff.

J3 university by John jewett. He had ped course a couple years ago.

You seem like a bright guy, I'm sure you can find a good education College.

If I were you, I would search online for some International courses.

nutritional courses are pretty standard. you might be better off being self taught
This is the conclusion I think im coming too. I have a decent concept of good nutrition but I was hoping there was something packaged teaching performance nutrition and macro and micro nutrients.

But looks like it's either subpar quality courses, university or self taught
