Question for Coaches

So here's the thing (+ side story) It IS a 'pretty standard' truth. However, gyms, clubs and many states (Oz has these too) require you to have at least a 'standard'. It's as much a proper frame work that many courses give you as it is an insurance issue.

I'd agree with the idea that most of us who do this thing we do have as solid grasp of the fundamentals. 30 odd years ago I did a couple of courses. At one point I had the basic NABBA and BAWLA courses. I knew a bit about the YMCA one (that was what the UK standard NVQ scheme for training was based on) too. Around 15 years ago, andf probably cos my name was on some list somewhere, I was cold called by another scheme. wanted to sell me a level 3 course. 5 mins in and the fella says you could teach the course lol.

I DID learn on the BAWLA course - if only their 6 point teaching technique. The issue with the unregulated courses was they could vary a LOT and passing one meant you only knew what THEY taught you. Which might be BS. If I was gonna do this now I'd do a university degree in strength and conditioning. The money for that and the nutritional side is working with either a LOT of clients (pass) or sports teams.

Looking for some guidance if anyone can recommend any sports/performance nutrition courses.

I'm looking to do some further education. And with so many poor quality "educators" I'm looking for recommendations

Thanks in advance
@willipede looks like the guys got ya covered.

@Mobster, thanks for the feedback. Looking at it all a bit more now I think ill hold off on any courses. Keep working on my coaching business focussing on exercise programming and giving nutritional guidance within my scope.

I plan to start with @AE1079 very soon so I think I'd better off paying him to coach me and learn hands on at this stage.

Qualifications can follow later but nothing beats hands on experience.

Thanks mobster

Here in Aus it's pretty unregulated with clinical dietitian being the only course requiring a diploma

Nutritionists being a total free for all here. I'm happy to an international course if there's something worth while
That is absolutely wild! So essentially anyone can call themselves a nutritionist ? If i understand this correctly.
