Today was the start of a taper that will last 3 weeks. Going to try and max out at as close to 365 on the incline bench as possible by years end. Cut all tricep work out today and will only do a couple tricep exercises on arm day if at all. Might even skip arm/delt day until after the year to help the taper. If not we might just go really light and deload on those days just to keep blood pumping and recovering from everything else. I felt so strong on my pec/dec fly machine today. Able to do the stack with perfect form with nice long stretch and hold on top and bottom. Felt explosive. Probably not going to do them next week and help the taper even more.

Also went to a powerlifting meet this weekend. Man all I could think of is I want to get on that platform and compete and see how far I can go. I really want to break those records. I would have a fun time going up against the 20 year old crowd. Would be fun to smoke em!!! Planning on possibly looking for a powerlifting meet in Mid May which would be about 12 weeks into my next cycle. Most likely going to be a Test/Primo cycle as I dont want to gain any muscle mass. I need to be able to stay under 220 lbs for the competition so I will have to do a water cut to make weight when I do it. Ok everyone have a nice strong week ahead and get Strong AF!!!

Planks are perfect with the cardio :) and the maxout is going to go well

I used to be the same back in the day whenever I went to comps or seminars

I like how you mix in the chest and triceps in the same workout, pretty standard.

Nice job putting in a bunch of warm-up sets.
This way, you keep those shoulders warmed up and you don't tear out your pec muscle.

There actually is a lot of competitors in Washington I noticed it’s high schoolers even. So it’s gaining respect! Might vary depending on region and the leadership at the state level of these federations. Takes a lot of volunteers to make a meet run well.
 
Love seeing people hit core. It’s over looked a lot
