The question is above - is it good to eat spicy foods when you are dieting, or not? Is it bad, or good? I have heard that it may help burn fat, but don't know how true is that.
It actually is true that spicy foods help increase metabolism. Spicy foods will slightly increase internal body temperature and cause a small increase in metabolic rate. That's why you get hot and start sweating when you eat something particularly spicy.
The metabolism increase will be very minimal, maybe 5%, but if you enjoy spicy foods anyways they certainly don't hurt to add into your diet. Every little bit adds up.
As an added bonus, some human studies have shown that spicy foods increase feelings of satiety in humans.

So long as it's not bothering your Stomach, have at it.
I put this Organic African Red Pepper on my Eggs in the morning........................................ JP
P.S.
Muskate is Correct ~ Hot Peppers stimulate Circulation and Raise Body Temperature.
In Hot Climates, this can actually make you feel Cooler, by Diminishing the difference between your Body Temp and the Outside Temperature.
Good spicy peppers are shown to be good for the Heart as well. I grow many varieties. Ghosts, bell, jalapeño, Serano, Habanero, banana.... Hi protein chili with peppers are great for flavor. Try mincing them and mix with hamburger. Grilled chicken breast, brown rice and bell pepper for stir fry.
Spicy food is definitely not bad for ones diet, as long as it does not cause stomach problems for you, and you know what is moderation. Anything in excess will be bad, even just spicy foods. However, when you are doing oral steroids, it is not a good idea to eat very spicy foods, since they will stress your liver, and it is not a desirable thing because oral steroids are liver toxic.
