Bone broth is full of unprocessed collagen, good fats, proteins and minerals/vitamins.
it will help with elasticity of the skin, gut health, joints, and speed up recovery.
I consider homemade bone broth the healthiest non fruit/veggie a human being could put in their body aside from high quality organs.

don't bother buying the store bone broth, its not gonna come close. also those powdered collagens they are selling as supplements are completely bogus.
if you want the real bone broth benefits you need to make it on your own!!

how long it takes: about 48 hours so plan ahead of time

what you need:

1. crockpot to make it in
2. 4-6 48 oz boxes of broth (or you can use water)- make sure your broth base you are using is free of additives, preservatives and things like onion/garlic or you will not get the benefits of a low FODMAP broth and ruin the entire recipe! (see ingredients in the attachment of the one i get which you can buy from amazon/whole foods)
3. pepper, oregano, rosemary optional seasonings to add (if your broth doesn't contain salt already then add some as an option)
4. raw honey
5. chicken
6. grassfed beef bones/chicken bones/fish bones. the key ingredient here is the thick grassfed beef bones which have bone marrow that will break off. also chicken bones have bone marrow inside which will also break off when you cook it.
7. veggies, i like swiss chard and spinach myself but you can add your choice
8. potatoes, i like to skin them as the skin can irritate the gut in some people and i love sweet potatoes and yams
9. cooked rice is optional

marinade cooked chicken in pieces with raw honey for 4 hours
heat up bones in the oven at 400' for around 15 minutes if they are frozen
boil plain broth in a small pot then once its hot add it to your crockpot and set to high
add the bones to the broth.
let cook on high for 24-30 hours.
remove the bones and put bones in your garden, it will feed your plants
add the potatoes and any stem veggies that require longer in the crock pot, give them about 4 hours on high setting
lower the setting to warm and add rest of veggies and cooked rice.
cook another 90 minutes then drop to warm
you will likely still have extra plain broth left which you can add back in for a more liquid bone broth. if you don't like it liquidy then you don't need to add it.

you can store the bone broth in the fridge for up to 4-5 days and they will stay good. the leftovers actually taste better so you can feast on that for days until its gone. for added benefits fast ahead of the bone broth, then break your fast with this bone broth. it will do wonders for your gut health doing it that way
