Update / TRT

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to give everyone an update on a recent decision I have made.

Some of you already know but I have had borderline below "normal" test levels for a while. Last bloods came in that I was 100 points above the lowest "normal" level. This test was done fist thing in the AM when T levels are the highest. At the time I was not having a ton of side effects associated with low T other than a bit of a drop in libido. Nothing crazy though to make me take action. After those bloods I discussed everything with my doctor and what the future may hold. She is a fantastic doctor and suggested we watch how I am feeling and retest in a year. We both agreed that TRT was inevitable but the time frame was uncertain. Some guys can go years at a low level with no issue and some feel terrible. It is very individual.

Since that visit, I have really started to have a lot of side effects. Libido is basically at 0, no morning wood ever, lack of energy, not depression but just an overall feeling of "blah".

At the recommendation of Muskate, I tried a 4 week protocol of clomid at 25mg per day and a bottle of HCGenerate ES. While this slightly helped, it was not what I was hoping for. After the 4 weeks was done, things went back to how they were.

This is just not how I want to be anymore. I am tired of all this plus it has been much harder to lose fat and gain any muscle. I am a guy who never "abuses" steroids. I have ran my cycles properly with time off and thorough PCTs. This is just something that happened in my case and I will be dealing with it.

After a good discussion with my family I have decided to self medicate TRT for a year until I go back to my doctor. This is necessary for someone who is married (and values my marriage very much). I owe it to my wife to have a strong libido and be able to do what I need and want to do in the bedroom. I also owe it to my kids. They are very active in sports and I even coach one of them in hockey. I do not want this lower level of energy anymore.

I will be starting this protocol Monday and will give you guys some updates as I have them. My plan is to start at 100mg per week and make adjustments as needed. I will keep up with blood work as well. I will be running aromasin at 5mg 2-3 times per week.

The plan is to come off completely 6 weeks before I see my doctor for the next round of blood work. At that point I am certain that my natural test will be low enough to get the prescription. With my benefits I will qualify for little to no cost out of pocket.

This is not something I am thrilled about but more something that I feel I need to do for myself and my family.

As usual, thanks everyone for your support. I really love hearing your comments just as much as I like helping each and every one of you!

Cheers,
MasonicBB

MasonicBB I know we have been texting back and forth but you should watch the video I put out on TRT if you haven't already -> http://www.evolutionary.org/forums/...rone-replacement-therapy-(trt-hrt)-48402.html

Self diagnosing TRT is really no big deal in my opinion if you have access to a good source (like we do with the approved sources).

Just make sure to still get blood work done every 6 months to keep an eye on everything.

I like your plan on starting with 100mg/week and aromasin at 5mg 2-3 days per week. I would start there, wait 8 months to allow for everything to stabilize completely and then get blood work done to see where all your levels are at.

Based on your current blood work, I am going to guess the 150mg/week and aromasin at 5mg EOD is going to be the sweet spot for you.

Yes, I definitely watched it and it was a great video. Very timely for me. I always appreciate your input. I will definitely update as time goes on.

Wish you well. For me, it's one of the best things I could of done for myself (health, moods, energy, libido,...) don't think you will have any regrets.

Thanks for your feedback Brother. Hoping for the same results.

Hey Bro, my last T levels came in under 300. My doc prescribed me 100mg of Cyp per week. He said I made a good decision getting this treated now because had I waited, my quality of life would not be good. His exact words were I would be looking like some creep at 50. I only just started so I can't give any results yet, but I optimistic.

I'm 48 and have been on TRT since April of this year. My T level was 320 when tested. I was having the same issues described ;no morning wood / low libido / feeling blah. Started at 100 cyp per week and level went to 600 as of 6 weeks ago. Doc switched me to 150 per week which is what I'm on now but have not been tested since then. Morning wood is back, stronger erections, feel better overall, and better in the gym, etc. For me it has been positive so far.

I have been on it for a couple years--- started out 200 every two weeks---- then switched to 100 a week--- finally ended up at 150 per week. I do 3 low dose cycles per year and then go back to 150 per week in between works very well for me. Life changing experience.

As long as you track your bloods and keep everything in check, I think this is a smart choice, especially when you have low natural test levels
