watch out for fleas over the summer

just a reminder be careful this summer with fleas. they are very common this time of year when it warms up and they will jump on your pet outside and get into the house and multiply.
those of you who know me know i hate pesticides and we don't want to get to the point where you need your home bombed so let's make sure we be smart and prevent that from ever being an option. i recommend revolution flea prevention for your pets starting in /marchApril till October at the very minimum monthly which is a very safe option and is the least toxic brand according to my vet (check with your vet for the best option). you will need a script from your vet for that.

if you have carpet inside make sure you use pet safe carpet cleaner. i recommend a combination of salt and baking soda or borax. and leave in for a few hours then vacuum. this will kill most of the flea eggs/larvae. make sure you also wash your sheets and include borax in your wash. borax is a very safe natural way to wash sheets and it also works great as a barrier around your house instead of harmful pesticides. i will put it down around any entry way and also on my grass where my cat lays. it won't 100% get rid of the fleas of course but it will cut the numbers down

another trick you should do is buy flea traps which are sold on amazon. these work great not just for catching fleas, but also other tiny insects like roaches that live in your walls. it works by attracting them via the light/warmth and then they get stuck on the glue trap and die.

remember with fleas its just like gyno. the best prevention is not having the problem in the first place. your pet will be happier not having to scratch and itch and you won't have bugs in your house.

i made sure my cat is covered and i also make sure that i get flea prevention on my stray cats too that i take care of.

Here are some must haves with pets. on the left is a flea trap which you should keep near where your pet sleeps and keep it plugged in especially at night. and on the right is borax and baking soda. 2 safe cleaning products for your carpets and cleaning where your pet sleeps so they are happy, clean and scratch free


Also make sure you vacuum with a hepa vacuum so it doesn’t spit out dust or flea eggs while you vacuum

Great post, Borax really works as a safe alternate pesticide guys give it a try. Like @stevesmi place in around entry ways and windows etc for a barrier against bugs and pests into your home.

bro you should come to the ranch if you want to see a lot of problems one thing I can recommend is ladybugs they will eat the fleas and eat any bug
