I hear all the time people saying that redbull is so bad because of taurine, that stresses the heard and so on and so on...but here I see that many on the contrary take it. What is the difference between the taurine in redbull and supplements like n2gyard?

There is a lot of confusion about RedBul and taurine. Indeed, there is taurine in redbull, but it is definitely not the taurine making all the damange to the cardio-vascular system. For some reason people don't stop to think that a huge amount of stims and sugar are really bad for one's health, and taurine has nothing to do with it. Well, there is only one possibility of taurine in redbull being harmful - if you drink roughly more than 4-5 cans per day. Each can has, if I am not mistaken, 1 gram of taurine, and the recommended daily dosage for an adult male is 3 grams. So drinking more than 3 cans per day would be like overdosing with taurine, which is not good, especially coupled with caffeine and sugar.

Red Bull is terrible because of the sugar and caffeine content. Same really for any of these energy drinks. If you have a proper diet and stay hydrated you will have plenty of energy throughout the day.

Taurine is simply an amino acid. It is perfectly safe to consume and can not contribute to any side effects like sleep apnea or increased heart rate.

The problem with red bull is all the stimulants (caffeine) and sugar it contains. Not taurine.

I rather take a pre workout like Mr. Hyde zero than energy drinks like red bull. Like all the other guys have already stated its not the taurine thats the problem just the stims and sugar. Mr. Hyde zero definitely has caffeine but doesn't have any artificial sweeteners and what not. I usually take 1/4 to a 1/2 of a scoop if im not training and just need a little boost. And its cheaper in the long run a case of red bull can be up to $40+ (at least for me) , Mr Hyde zero was only around $30 and the website i got it from had a discount too

Because people will find anything to blame. Energy drinks are bad mostly due to caffeine. Taurine is the least of the worries of it.
