Why would clomiphene and enclomiphene cause a cardiovascular event?

GoldenPlague

Newbie Brother
Clomiphene and enclomiphene are SERMs that bind to estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus, but they don't reduce the estrogen level in the body. And since they aren't 100% precisely selective, they may bind to estrogen receptors in other body systems, but this is insignificant.

Estrogen has heart-protective properties, but, again, clomiphene and enclomiphene don't reduce the estrogen in the body, don't increase cholesterol, and don't cause an increase in blood viscosity.

So, given that in mind, why would clomiphene and enclomiphene cause a heart event? Or only enclomiphene causes it, while clomiphene doesn't?

I recently decided to check some information on Wikipedia, and saw concerning information about the side effects. I'm totally ok every single side effect, but not with the last 3 of them shown in this image:

If you think that 0.1% (1-1000 chance of it happening then) chance of it occurring is a serious issue then can I suggest you do NOT look at the side effects for many OTC drugs such as Ibuprofen.

Indeed it's less than 0.1%. because that would mean 1.4 people (ergo impossible) of the 1400 or so looked at. It's probably rounded up to a statistical average

You also lack any technical skill to understand the variation of users in that study vs YOU. YOU have told us (but never ever proved it) that you're in shape, train and diet well. Now go see WHICH of those studied were most likely to have suffered the issues you fear. A buck gets you ten it'll be the most old, unfit, fat and with bad eating habits of those taking part (or in medical trials via patients).

I also assumed this.

The side effects in question probably probably occured in an odd group of people who are far more prone to such health issues than average people.

Are there any bigger studies, covering more people, so I can get more accurate statistical data?

I'm mostly interested to know by what mechanisms can such cardiovascular events occur; are they caused by the substance itself or by pre-existing problem the substance interacted with and caused the cardiovascular event.

I'm totally healthy and don't have any pre-existing diseases. I'm trying to figure out if I'm at risk.

I think he should make a log. He can ask questions there. I do this, I post daily logs and if I have a question for everyone I'll just pop it at the end and it's always been answered. New threads don't need to be made for every question. Even if he doesn't want to start a log, he should make a thread titled "questions" where he can ask questions until his heart is content

@GoldenPlague thats a small % of people like % percent that gets hit by a car so dont worry about it

if you run too much of ANY DRUG or substance your body is gonna have problems

There is no need to run anything more than 25 milligrams of Clomid and any situation I don't care what it is

Okay. The dose I'm planning to use is 25-50mg, but most likely 25, a day.

I never assumed I will use too high doses of clomid. The standard dose is 25-50 mg a day. Can a problem happen at such dose?

You mean you are on blast and cruise?
No he just stays on a cycle year round I don't think he does much in the way of a cruise I could be wrong here, he doesn't seem like 200mg a week of test only guy
