Another important element of training is time spent in the gym. It isn't about the time you are there, it's about time under load. The person at the gym front desk is there for 8 hours, it means nothing. He uses curls as an example, and says if you are taking too much time in between sets which gives your body too much of a break, it won't help you improve the way you should. German volume is an example where you are doing more work in the same amount of time your body will be forced to get stronger and more endurance.
Another example is be aware of your goals. A powerlifter wants to move the most weight possible from point A to point B, but a bodybuilder will have a different goal where they are focused on exhaustion and wrecking those muscle fibers.
Steve talks about compound lifting and how every single pro bodybuilder started with that style of training to build up their muscle and body memory. The main lifts are bench presses, squats, deadlifts, rows, pullups, dips, pushups, clean/jerks, etc. This is a great strategy if you are new to weight training.
Another tip is if you have to take time away for various reasons. Sicknesses, divorce, closed gyms, taking a break, etc. can happen, and that is life. When you come back, Steve recommends that instead of jumping into a 20-25-set split routine, just hit 2 sets per body part and do total-body workouts to get your conditioning back first. After a couple of months, you can graduate to split routines to start exhausting your body more.
The same goes for steroids, don't just jump into steroids right away. Get into great shape first so you aren't spending your entire cycle sore.

Defining pre-exhaustion
The pre-exhaustive technique was promoted by Bob Kennedy, and it's a concept Mobster respects. For example, it would be doing lateral raises that work the different heads of the muscles at moderate to high repetitions and lower weights. Keeping form correct is important, but you should keep your muscles under tension the whole way with the objective of F'ing up their lateral head.
Another example is doing leg extensions, where you are doing 12-15 reps and squeezing both ways, with a controlled motion.
Steve says one of the things you can do on chest day is do 10 sets of 10 reps at a moderate weight. This will cause such hardness and burn in your chest. It isn't something you want to do very often but maybe do this once every 4 splits.
Steve says what is the point of your body improving itself if you aren't pushing it? If you don't push yourself and exhaust that muscle it's just gonna stay the way it was. You will feel those amazing pumps especially if you are on steroids.
When it comes to back training, he gives the example of taping a penny to the center of their back, and says you should focus on a back exercise where you squeeze that coin. If you aren't squeezing, that means you are cheating by using your arms instead of the back. Your back will never improve that way so do it right.
Another tip is pullups and chin-ups. They will do a great job of exhausting your back and arms. You want to work your way up where you don't need assisted weights, and even further you want to get to the point where you can tie a weight belt and do pullups fighting gravity.

Equipoise: This is an important steroid cause it is great for high-volume training. A dose of 300-600mgs is popularly used.
Primo: This is a great one for high-intensity training because it doesn't cause a lot of side effects so it allows you to be flexible. A dose of 400mgs or more is what is recommended.
