Help! I can't stay motivated off of a cycle.
Understandably, there will be a difference between how you feel and being motivated on cycle and off steroids. Mobster stays real on this topic and says it won't be the same between being on and off when it comes to how he trains on cycle vs. not. He then compares being on steroids as like driving a Lambo vs. a regular car, if you get used to that as being like how you feel on a cycle vs. off.
Steve goes over how steroids should not be used too early in your lifting career. The reason, ironically, is that they work so well that if you don't get used to training off of them, then you won't want to train in the future without them. That isn't a good thing because then it becomes a crutch. Steroids work incredibly well at boosting protein synthesis, binding to shbg, and breaking down barriers that help you build more strength and muscle. There is also a rebellious element of using them which drives a lot of people to use them as well.
Mobster has an old school thinking where he says if you haven't earned your stripes, you shouldn't use them, and it doesn't matter how old you are. You should get the basics on your training and diet first and gain as much as you can, then worry about jumping on steroids. Proving that you can stay disciplined with yourself is huge, you won't get far if you go and get wasted with your buddies while on steroids, so don't use them until you are ready to get 100% serious.
Shifting focus off-cycle
Mobster starts this segment by being realistic about how much weight he can push or pull as someone who comes off cycle. He won't be able to do stupidly heavy weights off-cycle, so it's important to adjust your training off-cycle.
Steve says you must accept no matter what your goals are, whether it is about strength training or bodybuilding, you will not be as strong and muscular when you come off and that is okay! You cannot improve linearly because that isn't the way our bodies work. Some things happen in life like illnesses, injuries, and wear and tear that will prevent a lifelong improvement. Pro athletes of any sport might go into depression when they get old and get cut, or are forced into retirement because they can't stand the fact that for the first time in their life, since they were little kids, other people have exceeded them. Some even commit suicide.
Mobster also says it's important to have other hobbies including nature, spending time with their families, etc. This allows you to be better able to handle taking your foot off the gas pedal and not being so reliant on success at bodybuilding to keep you happy.
Tricks and tips for setting new targets
This topic ties into the previous one in that you must re-adjust what to expect and what you are going to do.
Steve says don't worry about where you are after a cycle or during a cycle. Worry about where you are year over year, or after 2-3 years, or after 5 years. This is why it's important to have a log on the forum or a diary so you can see where you were before vs. after. You will be shocked to look at your pictures from when you started and make 2 steps forward, 1 step back progress. Over time it adds up a lot more than you think.

Steroid cycles that get you motivated
Some people might struggle on a cycle to get motivated too, and certain steroids are better for those of you who have a hard time dealing with the boomerang effect. Para Pharma has a ton of amazing options.
