Introduction

Tom Prince Gym

Tom Prince is a former IFBB professional bodybuilder who had his career cut short due to health problems. Recently he passed away at 52 years old. While in his prime, during the late '90s and early 2000's, he was considered one of the top bodybuilders. Since then, he has been applauded for his humble nature and willingness to share his secrets. In this article, we will take a look at his life, successes, health problems, death, and steroid stack.

Statistics

Prince was born in Virginia on October 26, 1969.

His stats at his peak pushed over 300 pounds, 317 pounds was his reported peak weight in the offseason, even though he was only 5'8''. He was also able to cut down to 235 pounds and bulk back up very easily. He credited his vast knowledge of nutrition, training, and steroids for this. He also humbly admitted he had great bodybuilder genetics to manipulate his body to make it look like what he wanted.

Post bodybuilding

Tom Prince Body

Prince had to cut his career short, only 7 years, due to various health problems which we will discuss in-depth below.

Diet and training

Tom Prince Bodybuilder

Prince has said he did not enjoy doing the necessary marketing, traveling, or competing that was required to be a pro. For him, training in the gym was the most fun and watching his progress and improvements. He was a tactician with his training, using a lot of trial and error and testing his body's limits.

As far as diet, his approach was more micro-adjustments to how many calories and carbohydrates he was getting in. For example, instead of dropping his calories down to 1500 a day, he would adjust it only slightly by 250-500 to get his desired result. The same goes for his fats, protein intake, and carbs. He was a huge advocate for carb cycling based on workouts that day. For example, if he did not train that day he did not eat much. However, on a day he did a lot of training for 2 hours he would eat much more.

Death

His health problems started in 2002 due to failing kidneys which required him to get dialysis done at least 3 times per week. This forced him to quit bodybuilding, however, he said he still could get in workouts.

17 years later in 2019, Prince was a shell of himself, in this video, he doesn't even look like the same person as he is much skinnier. You would not have known he was ever a bodybuilder. However, Prince is very humble and intelligent in this video and gives some cool information to viewers.

It was announced on February 5th, 2022 Prince had passed away at 52 years old. His death was caused by 'serious health complications and finally losing his battle with cancer'. His wife was at his bedside when he passed away and his friend and fellow former bodybuilder Bob Cicherillo posted the news.

"He will always be remembered as a great husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend. Rest in peace my brother."Click here Instagram.

Opinion

Without advancements in kidney treatments, Prince would have died before 35 years old. He was able to extend his life as much as possible to 52 years old. The kidneys take a beating when you weight train, use steroids and eat a lot of food (especially high protein diets). This is a domino effect where you get immune-compromised and become a magnet to other diseases including cancer. All things considered, Prince will be known as a man who was open and honest about his steroid use and who truly cared about the bodybuilding community. He will be missed RIP.

Steroid cycle

Tom-Prince-muscle

As mentioned above, Prince was very honest about his steroid and drug use. There is a thread he made on a public forum where he went over his entire cycle.  This type of openness is extremely rare and it is cool that he shared it.

Here is what he says he used in 2001 when he competed at the Night of Champions:

    • HGH 4IU's up to 6IU's per day

Growth hormones stimulate cell reproduction and cell regeneration in humans and animals. In the fitness world, it is used across the spectrum as a performance enhancing drug, and in the non-fitness world it's used as an anti-aging compound. Read more..

    • Sustanon250 250mgs per week for the first 6 weeks only

Sustanon 250 is a commonly prescribed drug for treating low testosterone levels in men (TRT). This steroid compound is used by athletes and bodybuilders to gain muscle mass and increase strength. Read more..

    • Deca Durabolin up to 300mgs per week

Bulking season is about to begin for many bros; as a result, you can see the increase in posts asking which compound is the better choice: nandrolone phenylpropionate (npp) or nandrolone decanoate (deca durabolin). Nandrolone is a great compound for any bulking cycle, but which ester is best really comes down to the user, their goals and personal preferences. Read more..

    • Winstrol 50-100mg 3X per week

Winstrol or Stanozolol is an anabolic steroid used to get lean and hard, it's mainly used as an oral during cutting cycles to lose body fat. It's as variant of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), so you can expect similar fat loss benefits as you would with any other DHT derivative steroid. Read more..

  • Testosterone Cypionate up to 600mg a week
  • Teslac
  • Nolvadex
  • Ephedrine
  • Caffeine

Prince also gives some information on why he used what he used.

He says with caffeine and ephedrine use, they both kept his body temperature up as he believed it helped him burn fat and stimulate his metabolism.

Another thing he talks about is he liked to raise the doses of steroids going into his show because he believed that the leaner you get the more steroids you should use to counteract muscle loss.

He also talks about that he NEVER went near insulin after trying it one time and not liking it.
He believed in, the fewer compounds he used the more control he had over his body, and his favorites were Testosterone and Deca Durabolin because they were easy to run and they worked great for him.

tom-prince-where-are-they-now

He says that Equipose and Deca did the same for him so he stuck with Deca and stopped using Trenbolone around this time, because he couldn't find the high-quality stuff anymore. His tip is always to get high-quality pharma quality steroids ONLY, never use the cheap gear.

Finally, he says that he stopped all steroids 2 weeks before the contest because it helped him lose water weight and he looked the best that way.
