When i started training seriously over a year ago I could barely push 45lb db's on incline bench. After training my as* off, dieting and supplementing, I did 100lb db's for 8 night before last and I could not believe that. It really is true with enough drive any goals can be accomplished. :tank:

Thats a huge improvement. That is one thing im really striving to improve right now is my upper body strength. Ive never had a problem with lower body strength. As a sophmore in Hs i leg pressed 500 lbs for reps and for the life of me cant remember my squat it was 3 something for reps( Trying to get back to this due to knee injury sustaind in marines), but my upper body has always kinda lagged.

Thank you bro! It is only going to get better from here!!!! Ya know you tell what i call normal people stuff like this and they are like thats great! People like us truely understand what it takes to accomplish these things. Hence why i love this board.

Way to go! Personal bests are a great feeling aren't they? I love when I break to a new level in strength or size. Its the feeling that keeps me going.

TOTALLY AWESOME!! :thumbup1:

great job!!

Wow thats some serious improvement dude! I loved the shredder stack cause it was week after week of PRs!

you sound like me, good job :14:
i finally hit 315 on bench the other day and i was exstatic

That is a huge gain. It is awesome when you hit a personal best. It feels great to know that busting your ass in the gym is paying off. I know what you mean about people that dont do it, not understanding. I was trying for a while to get 405 and I finally got it at lunch time, so i called my wife to tell her and she said "thats nice, pick up something for dinner on the way home". I guess i didnt expect a parade but a good job would have helped. Keep up the good work bro.

Keep working on the legs, fix the squat pattern using body weight until there is no pain, but keep deadlifting max weights. How are your lunges & step ups?

Push & pull a sled if possible - AWESOME leg work with no eccentric load on the knees! Stay off the leg ext & leg curl

The FASTEST way to increase upper body strength is to increase total body strength starting with the legs for the body tries to limit asymmetry. The need to stabilize heavy loads used with legs often kicks the upper body into growth!

Thats actually helps me the best because the center of my quad is quite weakened from the ligament problems I had that is the part of my leg that needs the most strengthening.

I know squats etc are total leg moves for the most part, but the specific training has given me the best improvement.

Dude,

I don't want to hi-jack this thread but I would really stay off fixed axis equipment if you are training for MMA, it slows down reaction time, decreases proprioception & balance, and uses unnatural recruitment patterns.

I would only maybe use them in a limited fashion if only seeking muscle mass increases. They can be brutal on the knees.

PM or post if you want some alternatives

S:)

Awesome job on your lifts bro!!! I know what ya mean, other people just dont get us. My wife used to ignore me getting all happy about lifting some heavy weight untilshe started training, now its something we both relate to. I have weak legs and recently did my personal best on deep squats, got 385 for 7 reps. :)

I would love alternatives if youve got them my quads need to be built more balanced that is the major source of my problems I believe.

Thank you sir! I was just feeling it so I put that fourth plate on and went for it. Actually thought about this place before I did it and pushed them on out!:tank:

Nice job on 405. That is what I love about lifting, it is a very rewarding feeling and there is always 5 more pounds.

Nice Freakin Job Man!!! 405 is a nut ripping o-ring blowing amount of weight for sure. Great freakin job!
