It hurts because water is a hypotonic solution which lyses(disintegration) of tissue cells and hemolysis(destroy) of blood cell. Now it may not hurt if you use NaCl in the mixture since normal saline is hypertonic but that might throw of the chemical make up.

I had the same problem a few years back and like you i was taking Armidex. I switched to aromasin eod 12.5 and about a week later I felt better. High estrogen makes you feel crappy.
