Reading online that BCAAs do have calories but they don't have to report the calorie count in the tabs. Why is that? it has calories right? its protein?
Branch chained amino acids (BCAA) have calories. BCAA are free form amino acids. Protein molecules are long polypeptide chains of amino acids strung together. They are essentially the same thing.
Both have 4 calories per gram.
By law, free form amino acids do not need to be recorded as calories on nutrition data labels so many company's don't post the caloric content they contain. They do however contain calories.
