Liothyronine (Cytomel/T3) Syn pharma

Hello all.

Recently, I've purchased Cytomel (of which I've been looking to get for quite a long time) from Syn-Pharmaceuticals (gone through the approved sources route).

They cannot disclose to me the excipients/filler compounds used in the pills, so I will have to bite the bullet and just see if I have any allergic reaction to them.

However, I was wondering if anyone here knows where I can get truly pharmaceutical grade T3 hormone - either Cytomel, Tiramel, ERFA Thyroid or Armour Thyroid?

I am from near the GTA.

Thanks for any input (I've just made my account today, but have been reading many threads and forums for the past couple of weeks - I find it very useful to read about all of your experience)

Hello there :) Thanks for first reply.

I got the Syn Cytomel today in the mail (or rather I had it "touch down" as Ive noticed is a much more pleasant saying) and already tried one - no adverse reaction (its been random with me and regular supplements, nevermind an active hormone - I just wanted to see if I could draw any connections to previous supplements Ive had an odd reaction to, but im not concerned now).

It started working its magic quite quickly even just taking a quarter of the pill - quite pleased :)

In all honesty, I'm far too scared to use any AAS, and currently am not too interested in doing them personally - just more fascinated with them.

The reason I was looking for Cytomel for so long before giving in and buying online is just due to wild hypothyroid issues Ive had for a long time.
I havent had a blood test taken in my life, because I have an insane phobia of needles. I would have to be put unconscious to have one done Lol (sad but true - also why I literally couldn't inject hormones for the life of me).

For this reason, I resort to using a Clinical/Differential/Exclusion diagnosis mixture if I ever feel as though something is off with my body, with great success for the past decade or so of my life (thankfully).

So yeah, I kind of just took matters into my own hands because at this point I literally have nothing to lose. Ive tried desiccated thyroid supplements, pre-cursor vitamins for thyroid in their most biologically mimetic format, all the way down to every other single vitamin/mineral/trace element the body requires (in their mimetic form) - hit and miss. Granted they've helped certain things, but the thyroid issue was still not fully resolved.

After extensively researching the actions of all the thyroid hormones for probably the better half of the past 4 months (collating info from studies all the way to a century ago), I found that my symptoms line up perfectly with the typical issue of converting T4 to active T3 (this is regardless of what diet I eat, or vitamins I take).

So yeah, thats the only reason I was asking about T3. I plan remain conservative with it - like you'd do when titrating up to a correct dosage if I was actually prescribed this by a doctor (increasing dose 1-2 weeks at a time if necessary).

I'll report back periodically about how it feels (I'm usually not very social but who knows how that might change).

Thanks again for being very welcoming :)

Self diagnosing a hypo or hyper thyroid issue is just plain dangerous no matter how many centuries you collate info back to to arrive at your own diagnosis without modern medical intervention regarding diagnoses methods and bloodwork.

I can't say I have much to contribute to this especially considering how you arrived at whatever dose you're taking, a dose of which wasn't mentioned which too can be very dangerous if the wrong dose is used whether you need T3/T4 or not.

Yes sir :) Sorry, I already got into the one bag there so it's top is torn off.

No, I don't have my bloodwork taken on it.
@HarleyGuy And I don't disagree with you. Bloods are massively important, but for thyroid issues they more often than not can't show the entire situation (resistance to T3 at the receptor level, conversion issues), and it is still modern practice to use symptoms to monitor/tune dosage of thyroid meds, or determine if it's working altogether. (Even my family doctor admitted he legally would have to give me blood work just to be able to prescribe me a thyroid med, but it still would come down to using symptoms for determining whether the protocol is working or not)

But that's why my starting dose is 6.25mcg (quarter pill), and will monitor symptoms over the next couple weeks to see whether or not I need to increase the dosage.

But all in all I am very very happy with the product, and am so happy I found this website :)

Smart move to start very low then but get bloods is my advice.

Nice TD pic on @SYNPharmaDist's T3

The e2 test would be a good idea. My hope is to reverse the issue starting with thyroid, as it usually is sufficient to break the estrogen/rT3 cycle.

However I do have another question for you gentlemen. Is it possible that pills sometimes are under-dosed, or have been degraded just by sitting around?

I have now noticed that after that first quarter pill dose, there doesn't seem to be much effect from these, which is quite contrary to how active T3 is supposed to work - that's the whole reason it can be dangerous with dosing. So I decided to test taking more of the Sytomel to determine whether they had correct potency.

I then experimented with taking what should be 200mcg total in one day with effects that do not match that dose. I felt a mild general warmth of the extremities, nothing more - no beating heart, anxiety, anything that would even tend towards hyperthyroidism. Which is insane because that is an insanely high dose of T3.

This is what led me to thinking the pills could be old and have subsequently degraded, or were accidentally under dosed. Should I ask SynPharma? I don't want a refund for these because I don't have any blood test to prove whether they increase my Free T3 or not, and they clearly have some effect, but just very impotent.

I'm not upset about this either, just curious if this is known in your guys' field where this can happen to a product accidentally?

Thanks for any input :)

Yes that's what I was getting at. e2, cortisol, t3/t4, TSH, TPO, etc etc... if you can get over your fear of needles all of these will answer some questions with much more certainty than the route you're going now.

Should I ask SynPharma?
I would. And I'd ask for his last Jano's on his Cytomel as well. Some approved sources post their most recent Jano's on their review thread.

I agree with you. I really hope to just take the leap of faith and try getting a blood test because I know it's completely illogical - my phobia.
But I thank you for being patient and giving input.

Also I know this is probably a stupid question, but what do you recommend the best way I ask them is? Just @'ing them in this thread or DM them?

Thanks again.

Its hard to say dosing or schedule because we dont know what we are working with here @Osmium :D you're going from thyroid meds to thyroid meds but we dont see bloods
you understand to dial this in we need bloods and your food/training? :D why dont you start sharing this

Also I know this is probably a stupid question, but what do you recommend the best way I ask them is? Just @'ing them in this thread or DM them?
No stupid questions here bro. It's all of the above if you want, or any one of the three. DM them, email them, and post the question here and @tag them. Just flat out ask directly and be honest. That's how I approach anything, you're not in charge of anyone's feelings.

We can't give you medical advice without bloodwork and a log as well, please make every effort in that regard.
