I have always felt that u should run the dose at the lowest level you need to and adjust where felt needed. For instance if I start my cycle off using test prop at 500mg/week (which I feel is the min for the compound with strength and power gains in mind) and I don't feel much after week 1 I bump up to 600mg. But I my body feels it well at the 500mg range then I would stay there until I feel adjustment is needed to get a good response from the gear.
Your thought processes sounds like it would make sense to run it that way but two issues:
Someone that has done many of cycles would be using a bottle of test per week then.
And two:
Your body basically resets if your give it the proper pct and off cycle time that it requires
