LYME DISEASE HEALING PROTOCOL

Hey what's up everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself and start a health log to document my recovery journey.

In December 2025, I was diagnosed with Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever and Babesia (a parasite somewhat similar to malaria). Based on my symptoms and history, it's likely that I had these infections for many years before finally receiving a diagnosis, although I don't know exactly when I was bitten by the tick.

My symptoms over the years included migrating arthritis-like joint pain and recurring rashes that would come and go.

I recently completed four months of treatment consisting of antibiotics and anti-malarial medication. I'm also finishing a three-week prednisone taper this Friday. After that I will be one zero medication.

At this point, I still don't feel fully recovered. In fact, I sometimes feel that the antibiotics may have made things worse before making things better. The medications ended a few weeks ago, and recovery has been slower than I expected. I'm still dealing with lingering inflammation and trying to determine what is from the infections themselves, what may be treatment-related, and what is simply part of the healing process.

My goal with this log is to track my progress, share what works and what doesn't, and hopefully connect with others who have dealt with similar infections or chronic inflammatory issues.
