Vicodene

Hey science guys

This Friday Im going to have my wisdom teeth removed. I was planning on using the Vicodene I have on hand to help with the pain and inflammation. But it says on the bottle that it is not intended to replace prescription anti-inflammatories.

Do you think it is safe to use in conjuction with the prescrip meds Im sure to get. And is there any toxic effect if I double up the dose and take 4 every 2-3 hours or so?

Great question. Can it be stacked with Ibuprofen or other OTC pain relievers?
Those precautions don't mean it doesn't work really well by the way. Those are there for other reasons. As a supplement it just cannot be marketed that way by law. Even if it was stronger than oxycontin for pain it wouldn't be able to be marketed that way.

Vicodene is extremely addictive.

Usually they give you an Rx of Tylenol with Codeine... why not just use that?

yeah, tylenol 3 with codine should be more than sufficient, or vicoprofen. Make sure you ice your jaw to keep the swelling down, you should be back up and running in four days or less.

It's intended (based on the label) to held with minor pain and aches... I think it would be more comparable to tylenol or motrin vs. an Rx pain killer and anti-inflammatory. Molars are a BIG pain... not a headache pain. I'm a wuss.... I rely on Rx pain medication when it's needed. Preferably injectable LOL

I suffer from chronic pain and although this helps control flare ups for me it does not even compare to something like Aleve. They are probably going to prescribe you narcotics and ibprofen for wisdom teeth. Trust me you will need it.

+1 with above. You will have no need for the supplement vicodene. YOu will have the real deal narc pain reliever which will need no additional help. i think i got hydrocodone 7.5/750 when i got them taken out.

Suregery is done. Top ones came out easy. Bottom, not so much. He broke out the drill and went to town. So needless to say Percocets became my best friend this weekend. Im back at work with only a little soreness now. Now that the pain has subsided I'll try out the Vicodene from here on out.

I wish. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled I got knocked out. I was sore for a day and after that nothing except when I had to rinse the holes. I gave the drux to my sister. I liked when the surgeon said, "Because your bottom molars are impacted, that it's possible to crack down through the tooth, to a nerve that goes to your brain, and you could die. Ready?"

When I had surgery last year none of their opiates made a dent in any pain I felt. I'm a horrible junkie.

If given the opportunity I could be a horrible Rx junkie. I find Loritabs/Darvocets are great appetite suppressants, mood stabilizers.
