Anabolex is a very popular and common oral anabolic steroid manufactured by Ethical Pharma, which is mostly found in pharmacies of the Dominican Republic. Basically, anabolex is a 2:1 mixture of methandrostenolone (dianabol - a very common oral anabolic steroid) and cyproheptadine hydrochloride (periactin - an appetite stimulant). Therefore, considering that each tablet only has 3 milligrams (mg) in it, we can assume that there are 2 mgs of dianabol and 1 mg of periactin. In this article we will investigate this unique compound by learning about both ingredients and what they do.

Dianabol (methandrostenolone)
Dianabol is the main ingredient in anabolex. As most people know, dianabol (Dbol) is quite simply the most dummy proof anabolic steroid in existence. Meaning that even someone with average genetics, training methods and diet will still be able to gain mass while using it. Interestingly, it was designed to replace testosterone back in the 1960's, so athletes would not have to worry about injections and side effects associated with testosterone. As a result, this oral steroid became one of the most popular anabolic steroids ever, and it is said that Arnold Schwarzenegger loved taking dianabol because of the wonderful pumps it gave him in the gym.
Periactin (cyproheptadine)
The other ingredient used in anabolex is a non-hormonal drug called periactin.
Periactin was medically designed as a first generation histamine and serotonin antagonist. Thus, it is usually prescribed for allergies associated with sinus issues, swelling, and hives. Furthermore, it is also used also to treat dangerous anaphylactic reactions.
However, periactin can also be very beneficial for those looking to gain weight or quickly add crazy mass because it is a serotonin inhibitor. Therefore, it will increase the person's appetite, allowing them to eat more food and do so more often.
User results
Periactin was added to dianabol in order to make anabolex a major appetite stimulator. Dbol is already known as an appetite booster by itself, but when you add periactin on top of it, you can only imagine the voracious appetite the user feels. Therefore, you are warned that you will gain a lot of mass thanks to the addition of periactin. Nevertheless, most probably, not all of that mass will be very welcome, as users report gain of a lot of water and fat – not only muscle. For instance, I have read reports of 10, 20, and even 30 pounds gained within 4-6 weeks with the use of anabolex. That's logical, since the more food you consume, the more the scale will move. Hence, be prepared to increase your food bill on this compound for bigger results.
Obviously, users also report that they become stronger as well, and are able to push more weight in the gym. Meanwhile, those with poor appetite will rave about how hungry they are all the time, as if they had a larger stomach.
Side effects
Once in the body, dianabol aromatizes very quickly into estrogen. Consequently, you can expect major estrogenic side effects, such as bloating symptoms (moon face), water retention, and a rise in blood pressure. What's more, other estrogenic side effects like gynecomastia (bitch tits) can appear very quickly. For this reason, you must run an aromatase inhibitor (AI) with anabolex from the first day of the cycle in order to prevent these side effects. DO NOT wait until symptoms start occurring to take an AI. For example, aromasin or arimidex are great AI's to use on cycles, and the recommended dosages are 10 mgs EOD or 0.5 mgs EOD respectively. Additionally, anabolex is liver toxic, so make sure you run a liver aid like N2Guard with it.
The periactin side effects that you may encounter are fast heartbeat, increased appetite, drowsiness, insomnia, and dry mouth. In spite of the fact that people will take anabolex to purposefully increase appetite, this can get very annoying when you wake up at night starving, or eat a huge meal and get hungry again after an hour.
Finally, the combination of both of these compounds can lead to a lot of water retention, tiredness, insomnia, and lethargy. These effects can get multiplied because of all the weight gain that comes with it, which can strain the heart and make the person feel lethargic.
Dosage
Since there is a 2:1 ratio of dianabol to periactin, we want to make sure we are getting enough of both to make it worthwhile. In this case, it would be wise to take up to 12 caps a day (remember each cap is only 3mg), to make a total of 36 mg – 24 mg of dianabol and 12 mg of periactin. Those with little experience can use half that dosage and still get very good results. Since it is liver toxic, keep the cycle duration at 4-6 weeks maximum.
Where to buy
At the moment, anabolex can be purchased in the Dominican republic simply by asking for it in pharmacies. The cost, as of 2010, is approximately $1 per three 3mg pills, leading to a daily cost of about $4 for a solid dosage, and half that dosage for a conservative run.
