Using electro muscle stimulation post workout for greater hypertrophy?

Are there any studies or experiences on this? I use an EMS unit for ab tightening with good success but heard from a brah that you can use this post exercise to push that group further once you've done standard nervous system impacting lifts (from what i understand EMS doesnt impact CNS). Whats the verdict here? Also does an muscle stimulated via EMS consume glycogen the way a muscle normally does during stimulation?

I don't think that you will get any Glycogen Depletion because your not Breathing like during Regular exercise.

Athletes produce Energy via Two Mechanisms, both Facilitated by Oxygen.
1 - via Fat Metabolism
2 - via breakdown of Glycogen into Glucose followed by Glycolysis

So hooking up to the EMS will not produce either, because of the lack of Oxygen.................... JP

I use my Tens unit to break up injection lumps when I get them, which is not often. But it works for that really good. Also use it to loosen up cramped over tight muscles, especially traps.
 
I have two herniated disc in my L3 L4 from an accident 10 years ago and my Ten unit is a lifesaver. When I get a flare-up in my neck and upper back it's awesome. It saves me a trip to the chiropractor.

Have you ever tried an Inversion Table.
I got one about 6 Months ago, and I was thinking that I should have got it 20 years ago....................... JP

YES!! I just got one about a month ago and absolute love it. I pinched a nerve in my mid back which would normally take me about a week to get over. I got on the table about 4 times throughout the day for about five minutes each time and the next day I was fine.

I never wanted to spend the $300 on a good one. I would just go to chiropractor. I paid $100 for a like new one. Best $100. I should of got one 10 years ago. It would of paid for itself as much as I go to the chiro...

your a brave man. My neurosurgeon told me to deal with it as long as I could. I found a great chiropractor.

The first one was not so good. I walk around for 2 years with my shoulder and collar bone out of place. The guy that I have now fixed me in one visit.
 
Back to thread. EMS + lifts = more hypertrophy?

Nope, cannot see that happening. Those things would never make me feel a pump, no matter how high the setting. Cramps, yeah. Irritated skin, yeah. Higher level of hypertrophy? Unlikely.

I remember a Mexican jail that I was in one time and the used sparkling water and hot sauce to make you say whatever they wanted to 😜 lol . This brand takes pride in using all good stuff and no chemicals .
