When I first got into gear, I was pretty young. All of my friends discussed it and wanted to try, but none of them put in the work to learn about them. I even tried educating them and they didn't really want to listen. All they wanted to do was pop a pill and then gain 20 pounds of muscle overnight without an extra work. They put the work in at the gym, but every time I would help them with a diet they wouldn't listen to it for more than 6-8 weeks max. So after a little bit, I said fuck it I'm not wasting my breath anymore. Its been a long long time and none of them are aware that I do any anabolics. Luckily they chalked my gains, etc up to me well educated in what I do and what not. The only reason I don't correct them is because I truly know that they are the type of people that would fuck themselves up one way or another. Just thought I'd say that since you brought up your group not accepting it. A lot of members here also like to keep it hush hush. I definitely prefer it.
Anyways, concerning your phobia of needles, I too had a BAD fear of needles. I still remember when I was young and would FREAK out when I had to get a shot at the doctor (or get blood drawn). Oh man, it was a horrible lol. Anyways, come time for my first injection, I was freaking out BAD. So I started pushing the needle in slowly... The first prick was slow so it was a little meh (on a scale of 1-10, the initial prick was maybe 1.5). Then it went in "like butter" as someone else has worded in this thread. After that... I couldn't help but look forward to it. For the first few weeks I would get a little concerned when the time came, but you get over it. Like others have said... Eventually you REALLY look forward to it.
If I had such an absolute phobia at the beginning and have done what I have and look forward to the injections, bet your ass you will too. Its more or less just the fear of having something pierce your tissue and it hurting. After you see there's no pain (so long as you do the proper location lol), you don't fear it. Be ready for some virgin muscle pain at the beginning (won't be bad so long as you keep the injection volume low at the beginning), but you'll adapt pretty quick to that!
