Email choice

What's the preferred email provider? I'm between Safe-mail and Countermail. I like Safe-mail because I can see when it's read by other safe-mail users, but I worry about the server location (Israel, correct?). Countermail is more expensive, and I can't see when safe-mail users read my mail.

Most people I encounter use safe-mail. Does anyone know if the "upgraded" safe-mail accounts (bronze, etc.) hide the sender's IP? I like that aspect of Countermail as well.

If using Safe-Mail, definitely need an upgraded account.

JP, I agree that the NSA will get what they want, but they don't get involved in these things. I do think it's best to have a secure email account that sure as heck makes it harder for people to track.

I usually use a proxy to even log into my secure emails. I'm sure it can all be traced by Big Brotha, but it helps me sleep better lol.

I know the govt can see what they want but does safe-mail hide the IP address from the casual computer geek? Also would one have to use the paid version or will the free version work as well in hiding IP from the everyday computer geek?

Random question for you guys that use paid safe-mail accounts: do you get spam/junk email? I do - and I don't really understand why/how, considering I don't ever email or give out that email addy unless it's with a source...
