Nandrolone and Finasteride - Hairloss paradox

I was thinking of adding 50-100mg of NPP to my current regimen of 250 test and 200 eq. This addition is just for joint health, im in my later 30's and this is my "TRT plus" cycle that i have been running for 10 weeks now, after a long TRT only stint.

Im very big on health and keeping my hair, which i've been able to do on 1mg Finasteride for almost a decade now. I haven't used any nandrolone in about that time, and saw this from an AI summary, but the short story is that Finasteride actually CAUSES hairloss with nandrolone.

It is important to consult a healthcare provider before combining any medications, including nandrolone and finasteride, due to potential health risks and significant interactions.
Combining nandrolone with finasteride is not recommended in most contexts because it may considerably increase the androgenic side effects of nandrolone. The interaction is complex and counterintuitive compared to other anabolic steroids.

Key Considerations

  • Mechanism of Action:
    • Finasteride is a 5α-reductase inhibitor, meaning it blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone into a more potent form called DHT (dihydrotestosterone). This conversion usually causes issues in androgenic tissues like the prostate and hair follicles (leading to hair loss/BPH).
    • Nandrolone is unique because its conversion by the 5α-reductase enzyme results in a weaker compound (5α-dihydronandrolone).
  • Consequences of Combination: By inhibiting this conversion with finasteride, you prevent the inactivation of nandrolone in androgenic tissues. This can lead to a significant increase in local androgenic side effects in those specific areas, such as the skin, hair follicles, and prostate gland, which is the opposite of the intended effect of finasteride.

I know this is just an AI summary, so i wanted to get some anecdotal evidence from anyone who's had some experience.

If you use nandrolones and finasteride for sure it will cause hair loss, I had a few clients with this issue, exactly this actually.
finasteride you've been on a while you say, have you checked your prostate? PSA? @Nasser1997o2

I had it checked about 5 years ago. Completely normal.

I don’t know to be honest.

I’ve had a bunch of mandatory health checks and physicals for work and I’ve always been cleared and gotten comments to the effect of “employee is in excellent health”

I’ll be completely honest though.

Even if something was slightly skewed, I wouldn’t stop the fin.

My hair is too important.

I know that’s stupid, but it’s the truth.

If you have prostate cancer it would stop you dead in your tracks, but I'm not implying this, just saying things aren't so black and white in this situation imo @Nasser1997o2 please at least get PSA test
