Cheat day

Hey Guys:

Its interesting. The more I learn about nutrition, the more that having a "cheat day" seems hard to do. I am cutting right now so every time I put something in my mouth I make sure I know what it is I am eating.

For example: I used to drink alcohol once a week or so. However, now being on cycle that is something I just don't do. Also, I used to go and get KFC once in a while. But when looking into how much fat and hormones are pumped into that shit, I just cant bring myself to eat it. Fast food in general is all garbage. I don't care if its McDonalds, El Pollo Locco, , its all crap. I used to try and justify Jack in the Box because they put lettuce and tomatoes on their burgers. Truth be told...those Jumbo Jacks are nothing more than candy between a bun.

Having said all of that......when you guys have a "CHEAT DAY" (if you have one at all) do you just say FUCK it and go to town or do you still try to eat sensibly?

I eat high quality meats and breads (more than normal) and have a good local source of "sweets" like local made ice cream or yogurts.

I usually just have a cheat meal. Usually go out to a restaurant with the family for this meal. I will eat anything on the menu and get dessert also. I just don't overdo it and I am right back on track with my next meal. It keeps me sane and also it is good to have a cheat meal especially when you have been super strict for awhile.

Wooaaahhhh el pollo loco! Sounds mexican. I love mexican lol. It seems to me the healthier i eat the worse fast food and fried foods taste. When im cutting a cheat day keeps my sanity. Ill eat pretty much whatever i want but still keep away from overprocessed foods and such

Enjoy your el pollo loco I like it too, I always cheat once a week on Saturday or Sunday when I'm on diet or in low carb diet always is good to cheat one of the meal cause that way you going to feel more full and more powerful next day for your workout plus remember you need carb to your body to get big and pump

Usually have my cheat meal as my dinner out on weekend with the partner, always consist of beef or chicken, often will finish with a desert....but always ensure I have worked out hard or done some cardio within that day.

I always have a cheat day before leg day....I eat mostly Panda Express or Chipolte

I think chipotle and quedoba burritos are awesome cheat meal choices. They're delicious, packed with protein and much better choices than mcdonalds or other fast food. Once or twice a week cheat meals is a good idea IMO and keeps you sane. Just eat them around workouts if you feel guilty about them

Lol I just finish some white rices, bb potatoes and roll of chicken bread with spinach inside

My cheat meal is Sunday Breakfast. Bowl of oatmeal, 6 pancakes (sugar free syrup) 10 egg whites, and 10 oz steak.

LOL....that sounds like a pretty HEALTHY meal brother. Ha.. After looking at your pics I dont think you cheat :)

Thank bro but I cheat all day bro I eat the sane thing everyday nothing special my tip to stay cut is I always rest only 35-45 seconds between sets try and you will see

While cutting (now), I'll do a cheat meal up until a month out. I'll usually eat til' I can barely breathe. That's no joke. I can eat a large ny style pizza, a canoli, and drink 3-4 cokes. After I beg for a ventilator for a few hours after that lol, it's back to business.

I could do this. I would just hate myself in the morning

My cheat days usually consist of going to a restaurant to have a filet mignon with potato and veggies or a nice burger. Sometimes I'll have a Coke or Sprite after a long run. Too much sugar makes me feel wonky. And the sodium from restaurant food messes with my electrolyte balance, but it's all good. A nice Oscar filet every once in a while keeps me sane.

You'll feel like a superstar in the morning. The amount of fat gained is also negligible. It's one meal, then back to business. A month out from Saturday, no more cheat meals. Some guys can, but I don't do it.

Hey devil...I was wondering on a normal day roughly how many calories do you take in?

3,300 currently. I'm cutting. Going down to 2,900 starting tomorrow.
4,700-4,900 building mass. Eight meals/day + a post w/o shake called recover by muscle feast.

I forgot. There's never a normal day for me. I'm either cutting, or building mass. If on vacation, sure, I'll eat what I want, but stay clean mostly.

I have such a hard time with cheat meals. They always turn into stuff everything in your mouth until you are lying on the floor moaning never again, never again. Days. They are supposed to be mental relief or sanity days but they end up really f&cking with my head where for hours or days I feel as though I have let myself down and lost all my cutting gains. F-Ed up I know.

Sounds a lot like me. I have a couple cheat meals per week with one large one that I allow anything on the weekend. For one cheat a couple weeks ago, I downed an entire large meat lovers pizza with 18 chicken wings.

Even during my contest prep I allowed one cheat per week all the way up to the show, and I kept getting leaner. As long as you stay on track through the week and keep those cheats sensible, it can be beneficial to keep you focused and on track

Agreed! I'll drop cheat meals a month-three weeks out, but that's me. Some can eat a wicked cheat meal the week up,to stage.

I used to be the same way about it but you have to realize it is actually good for you to do this, both for your sanity and your metabolism.
