πŸ“ Reflections
The fatigue has still been hanging around, so the focus lately has simply been on recovery and taking care of my body rather than forcing extra activity. No cardio today and I didn't track steps, just concentrated on getting through work, eating enough protein and listening to what my body was telling me.

I was feeling noticeably better today though. I finished work much earlier than expected which gave me the chance to sneak in a quick leg session. Kept the workout productive without making it overly draining and left the gym feeling better than when I walked in.

At this stage I'm going to reassess again tomorrow before deciding how hard to push things. I have a feeling this next week will effectively become a bit of a deload phase. Lower volume, slightly lighter weights and giving recovery a higher priority while still keeping momentum going. I've been pushing pretty hard since the middle of January, so taking a small step back now should hopefully set me up for another good run moving forward.

Based on what you are outlining a deload might be just the ticket brother. Mid Jan is about 20 weeks which is huge. I can recommend a deload bro, works a treat both physically and mentally 🩡

My thoughts is probably going to be a decent 2 weeks of just keeping workouts up with again less sets less weight. Moving cals up to approx 2500 and seeing how I go. Will try to keep daily steps up but not going to hyperfocus on it.

Today was all about recovery.
I went and donated a full unit of blood this morning. Half a litre pumped out in about 5 minutes and 40 seconds. The phlebotomy team were very impressed with my veins and flow rate 🀣

I had the day off work which was perfect timing. Managed to sneak in about an hour nap during the day which was definitely needed. Energy is improving compared to where it was a few days ago but I'm still being cautious and giving myself permission to recover properly.

I also spent some time getting organised and meal prepping. Knocked out eight chicken, sweet potato and pea meals which are now sitting in the freezer ready for future lunches and dinners. Having food ready to go should make sticking to the plan much easier, especially on busy work days.

I'm still treating this period as a bit of a reset. Training volume has come down, calories have come up slightly and recovery has become the priority. After pushing hard since January, I think a small deload is exactly what my body has been asking for.

Retatrutide has now run out. I'll need to source some more at some point, but I'm actually happy to have a break from it for a while. With the focus currently being on recovery, reducing fatigue and giving the body a bit of a reset, now seems like a reasonable time to see how things go without it in the mix.

How’d you go donating blood? You just go to Red Cross? With all that eq accumulated your body must have been keen to let it out haha

Winny dropped to take the load off my liver. I was curious if that could have been 1 reason I was starting to feel the way I was.
Just booked through the life blood app. She didnt say anything about my hemo being too high etc after my finger prick. But the app will give me some stats when it's updated.

Smart pulling the winny to give the liver a breather, the bloods will show it bouncing back quick once the oral's out mate.

πŸ“ Reflections

I had a pretty lazy day today πŸ˜…
Step count was low, but I still spent a fair bit of time on my feet vacuuming, mopping and cooking even more meal prep. The freezer is getting well stocked now which will make life much easier.

The biggest thing I noticed today was that my energy is coming back really well. I felt much better from the moment I woke up. Even getting the kids ready for school, I was actually looking forward to getting into the gym afterwards.

Over the last couple of weeks training had started to feel like a chore. I felt like I needed to strategically time carbs and really psych myself up just to get moving. Today was completely different. I simply had my WPC in my coffee and headed off to train without needing any extra motivation.

The session itself was intentionally lighter with higher reps and lower loads. I'm still treating this as a recovery week and easing back into things rather than jumping straight back into full volume and intensity. The pump felt great.

The plan now is to keep this approach going for another week, continue prioritising recovery and monitor how energy levels respond. I've also started fully tracking food again today which is a good sign that normal routine is returning.

Good update brother. Slowly building is obviously working for you. Got to run this race at your own pace and style. Everyone responds differently nd you are proving this. Bravo πŸ‘ 🩡

What do you think the main reason your energy is coming back?
I think the calorie deficit caught up with me. So increasing food, decreasing energy output.
I still have body fat to burn but because I had so much extra before I think my body was having an easier time with a bigger calorie deficit.

Smart call easing the deficit back when it caught up, the body always responds better with a bit more fuel in the tank brother.

That makes sense, easing off the pedal for awhile

Good to see you back into and feeling good! A little break and more calories must have helped! Still a deload probably wouldn't hurt! You have been going hard lately! How's your weight tracking? No updates for a while!

Still feeling good. No workout yesterday. Taking it easy this week. Haven't had the chance to weigh myself but photos of this morning have me feeling good about were I am right now. Will get back into a calorie deficit next week. To try shred down a little more.
