There is no set time that AAS take effect, just like there's no "gains calculator" for AAS. For specific steroids, there's usually a set range of times, but none for all AAS. Like Aveng8_or said, for orals many times you'll start noticing results withing a few days. Sometimes it might take a bit longer, depending on your body type and composition. For injectables, it really depends on which one you're talking about. For instance, test P you'll usually start feeling within a few days and noticing results within a week since it is a shorter ester. But with Test E, since it is a longer ester, it may take a week or so for you to start feeling it's effects and a few weeks for you to start seeing results. That said, I wouldn't ever go with just orals because they provide faster results. You should be less concerned about "fast results" and more interested in quality results and gains. You want to keep the gains that you make, and you probably are wanting them to be as lean as possible (I'm assuming). Therefore, you have to have your diet in line, the proper gear, dosage, and duration in line, the proper cycle support, and the proper PCT if you want it to be worth your time and money. Again, I'd focus on quality gains, not fast gains.
My advice to you is to do your research on the different types of gear, decide which ones you want for your individual goals, then do research on the types of cycles that are run with that gear, research proper PCT, put together a rough draft cycle plan, and then post that rough draft on here and ask for us to critique it and give you advice. But you gotta do your research.
Good luck!
