War Machine (real name Jon Koppenhaver) is a former pro mixed martial artist (MMA) and porn star from California. With his fighting stats being 5'10" and 170 pounds with a 72inch reach, Jon fought in the Welterweight division. Interestingly, he had a Brown Belt rank in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His official record in MMA is 14 wins (8 by knockout) and 5 losses.
Childhood and MMA
War Machine had a tough childhood. For instance, when he was just 13 years old, War Machine had to attempt to save his father's life with CPR, yet, unfortunately, he was unsuccessful. What's more, his mother was a drug addict, so he was forced to take care of his siblings at a young age. In college, things did not go better, as he was expelled due to poor behavior, although his grades were very high.
However, when he got into MMA, his fortunes seemed to change in 2007, when Roman Mitichyan broke his arm during the pre-show, and War Machine (still named Koppenhaver) was brought in to replace him. In spite of losing that match to Tom Speer, it was his first opportunity to get featured on Spike TV. The next year he legally changed his name to "War Machine" and made his first official UFC debut by KO'ing Jared Rollins and winning 25K cash.
Myspace controversies
During his early fighting years War Machine made some odd remarks using his social media. One of his main questionable statements was when he said that fellow MMA fighter Evan Tanner committed suicide in the desert. However, medical examiners determined Tanner had been dirt biking and ran out of water and died from heat exposure, not from suicide.
He also made negative comments about President Obama on his social media, and he blamed these comments for his release from Bellator Fighting Championships. Nonetheless, he later returned to Bellator to finish his career.
Porn
War Machine did 12 adult films in total. His first scene was with Riley Steele, and he also did a Hustler nude pictorial with girlfriend Christy Mack.
Arrests
In 2007, War Machine was found guilty of beating up a man in a parking lot scuffle. He avoided a felony and was sentenced to probation. In 2010, he was arrested once more, and was charged in 2 separate bar fight incidents, this time getting a year in jail, and then another year in jail on top of that.
Christy Mack incident
War Machine had dated Christy Mack and was not happy about her association with a man named Corey Thomas. On August 8, 2014, he entered Mack's home and assaulted her, causing 18 broken bones, broken nose, missing teeth, and other injuries. She also said he had attempted to rape her. Her male friend Corey Thomas was also attacked. Mack managed to get away before War Machine got a hold of a knife, as she fled to a neighbors house and called the police. However, War Machine had fled the scene by the time they arrived. He was arrested by US Marshals 10 days later. As a matter of fact, we broke the story on our forums: https://www.evolutionary.org/forums/anabolic-steroids-peds/bf-puts-christy-mack-hospital-7626.html
As a result, War Machine was convicted of 29 felonies including kidnapping and sexual assault. Interestingly, his lawyers pointed to his troubled childhood and asked the judge to look at his brain injuries and steroid use as mitigating factors. During the trial, he used social media to attack judges and prosecutors, and even blew kisses to the District Attorney.
In spite of War Machine being sentenced to prison, his former girlfriend Mack has said that she still fears for her life and worries every day that he will get out and kill her.
Meanwhile, War Machine has claimed that he has attempted suicide while being in prison, but has found religion and now he hates himself for what he did. In fact, he blamed anxiety and depression for his problems, and even said he had a history of standing in front of the mirror and smashing his face against it.
Sentencing
On June 5, 2017, he was sentenced to life in prison with a possibility of parole after 36 years.
Possible steroid cycle
War Machine's lawyers admitted he had heavily used steroids and other drugs to stay aggressive, strong, and fight off his depression stemming from a rough childhood. We can speculate a cycle similar to this:
- Trenbolone 1000mg per week
- Testosterone 1000mg per week
- Halotestin 30mg per day
- Cheque drops pre fight 500mcg
- Adderall 30mg per day
- Anti depressants
- Pain Killers
