Eat a higher fat diet,making sure you get adequate omega-3 fats

Another short story:

Very low fat, low-cholesterol diets lead to "low" hormone levels because the building blocks to make hormones are provide by dietary fat.

Focus on getting a lot of omega-3 fats as part of your diet because they have been shown to promote the 2-hydroxyesterone pathway of estrogen metabolism. Another benefit is that omega-3 fats decrease aromatase activity so that less testosterone is converted to estrogen. Follow me yet?

Moral of my story", eat foods containing omega-3 fats daily focusing on fish, pasture-raised meats, and omega-3 eggs. Include small quantities ground flax seeds with the hull in your diet because they contain the omega-3 ALA, which is another aromatase inhibitor.

I would share something you may, or my not know.
There are two different types of "Tears", tears of joy and happiness, and laughter , the tear fluid is triggering your Immune System, promoting Healing!! And the Tear's of pain, sadness, and hurt, the tear fluid persists of what we call "Stress Hormones". Huh!!

I'm here to learn brother, and that's what I'm doing. I got the nutrition and lifting down pretty good. Sleep, well that should be easy but not so much for me. This other thing is new to me and I'm here to learn. Again thanks to all who help with me learning.

I get most of my cals through protein and fats. Carbs are limited to 3-4 servings of fruit, Ezekiel bread (2 slices) and veggies. I don't low carb it enough to go into ketosis but I eat just enough for the energy I need.

I keep my fats high by eating a lot of fish (fresh fish store at the corner). I also drink Carlson's Fish Oil 4 to 6 grams a day (helps my old joints).
I cycle my Carbs, but keep them low, below 75 grams 3 days a week and then moderately high, medium, high, medium, and back down.
On low carb days, my fats are much higher than the other 4 days, keeps the energy up, so I don't stall out.
It's all about manipulating your Hormone's.......................................JP
 
Remember ! You are what you eat , and you are what you eat , eats ! Eat grass fed beef , grass is full of a balance of omega 3 and omaga 6 your essential fats you know the ones our body does not produce but if need for many reasons . So if the cow you are eating is grass fed , what do you know , the fats in that cow are a have a balanced omega 3 and 6 . To much of one fat and not the other can cause problems , like inflammation for example ? Chicken , the same , organic free range , is the best ! And Yes ! It makes a different ! In the pocket too ! Damn

I love to eat healthy, want to see grandkids grow up oneday. I usually take 9grams fish oil per day. It helps my joints not feel like the tin man.

The importance of omega3 is undebatable....great article...but allways get good source of omega3 .....remember a time where now fods one of the biggest supplier worldwide had fish oil of very low quality....

@paja am realy curious when people are gona realize the importance of vits and minerals in helath....thx for keeping people here up to date....

Cause we all know cancer patients need to stay positive. Thank you very much, because now I know how to help my mother. She has breast cancer.
 
I used to be of the old school "low fat" mindset and have since changed my ways. This last 6 weeks of dieting, I kept my fat sources higher and saw great results. I even grind my flax seeds fresh every morning for my oatmeal! lol

The more I read and learn, the more I realize the importance of food and the choices we make. Not just about calories in/ out. I did an experiment last fall after watching a show on food and cut out a few things to see how I'd feel. The biggest thing I realized is SUGAR is my kryptonite. I felt like a new person after 21 days with no sugar. And...my nighttime food cravings went away.

Nice read. I pack deer year round. My kids love it. You have to make chilly, mix it with other stuff. But if you know how to fix it. People can't tell, unless you tell them

lol...bro I just ate deer "sauce" for my post work out meal. I make my own red sauce (ne sugar except the brown sugar I put in it), 3lbs ground deer meat over top broccoli and carrots....or whatever veggie I want. My girl has a recipe to marinate the back strips...lawd it's amazing.

You are one of them, thank you for your kind words and I know your brother analogman talks from the heart. I mean who else is going to try to make you feel better about yourself. What more could a forum want. I'm glad I switched.

No shit! All that organic stuff costs money! But hey...who said any of these was cheap. I have not really paid much attention to the difference organic meats have on my results. Any thoughts? What about getting your Omega 3 from supplements?

He'll yes , but remember that it has been proven , I've heard and read , that you need a balanced amount of omega 3 and 6 , to much of one and not the other can cause problems as in inflammation , and inflammation has been linked to many things like cancer !

80 for sure. I would even be as bold to say its 90 diet. You only workout 1 hr a day. It's what happens the other 23 he's that defines who you are.

It goes back to what the animal is eating . If your hunting dear at a feeding trap , most likely it's eating a lot of grains , hunter fed grains have a lot of omega 3 and not enough 6 but the dear also grazes on grass , nice green beautiful omega 3 and 6 rich grass . Organic meat put on this planet by God for us to eat and nourish or body's with perfectly balanced meat . I love it !

B 12 and Vitamin D are always good in my book, but Paja seems to know more in this area then most from what I read on EVO

Yes bro 2 very good vit in our style life,vit b will help you in grow muscle and vit D will help in full your muscle and get hard muscular look

There are a lot of them....orange triad, animal pak, AOR orthcore, WODPAK, etc etc just to name a few....If you can get your vitamins from food ain't nothing better then that :)

I'm another high fat believer. Used to do the high carb, low fat thing. My health was a mess. Turned it around by adding lots of fats including the "unhealthy" saturated fats. Now my health has turned completely around.
 
Good advice for most people, however there is a subset of the population which is larger than many think(perhaps up to 10-15%, possibly a little more) including those with Pyroluria(produce excessive pyrrholes which rapidly deplete zinc/B6 in the body), that have a mutated gene that causes preference for Omega 6 over Omega 3(normal gene causes preference for Omega 3). In this case excess Omega 3 intake acts the same in their body as excess Omega 6 intake does in a normal person, causing oxidative damage and other issues...

So while this is good advice for the vast majority of the population, its not good advice for everyone...gotta know your body, most people don't take the time to do it unfortunately...
 
I keep my fats relatively low every day, since my body responds much better to higher carb and lower fats for body composition. I stay fuller, harder, and leaner with my gym performance getting the best benefit. I take in fats just from healthy sources, but still keep them at 40-50g total per day which is adequate for health if they come from the right sources. Most people take in a lot more fat than they should, and a lot of that fat comes from fat sources that do nothing but bad for your body

Ive gotten a pretty good recomp with higher fat diet.. carbs blow me up easy
