Work Cooler

I recently have started a new job. My old job I had access to a full size refrigerator and microwave so I would just throw my meals in a sack at home and put them in the fridge at work until I would eat. New job I still have ample time to get my meals in but I am on the run quite a bit so no fridge or microwave access most days. I don't care if I eat my meals cold I just need them to stay cold throughout the day because I eat a lot of chicken and fish in the daytime.

What coolers do you guys use and recommend. I have used the personal size igloo coolers when I used to work on the farm but I am looking for something with separate compartments this time around, thanks.

I have a few coworkers who have 6pack bags, but I find the Tupperware compartments to be a tad bit small. I personally use a nice cooler and bring it into work with me everyday.

But I'm not going to lie, I do have a 6 pack bag which I use sometimes. Depending on if I'm on a offsite or business meetings

I read some reviews on the six pack bags and seems like they are great for awhile then start to come apart. Have you seen this happen to the people that use them daily? Thanks.

If I remember correct, the old bags (all black) fell apart quickly. But the new version (black & colors) do not. I have the second version. I have a buddy who has v1 and it's busted to worn out.

But to know knowledge, 6packbags have made the v2 bags tougher and more durable.

They make a metal exterior insulated type thermos.
You can heat up yur food in the am. Put it in the insulated container and is still hot for lunch.

I have one of those that I use for hunting, works good. But in order to get my meals I eat during the work day I would have a bunch of those with me.

Good to know, thanks again brother. Gonna check around and see if anyone locally has one that I can check out in person before buying. The price is not too bad.

got to get one of them big ones with wheels bro. Nobody will fuck with you.

Haha, some days the amount of food I eat it seems like one of those would be necessary.

at one of my old jobs I had a mini fridge I brought in and put under my desk. I didn't trust the people not to take my shit from the breakroom fridge, plus I didn't have to burn calories walking to the breakroom!!

Yeah I could do that but often times I will have to jump on the road for part of the day so I really need a good cooler to take along.

Devildog I will check out the yeti coolers, I am going to see if they carry them at bass pro shops or gander mountain so I can check them out in person. They look nice but the price is up there, but if they are worth it and I like what I see in person I will get one.

They're expensive, but you'll not buy another cooler again. Here's one that's considerably less, and would get the job done

Thanks for that. I am going to stop into gander mountain this weekend and see if they have any. I have a friend that works there and gets a good discount, I will just give him the cash and get it for a good price.

I'd recommend it if you're going to use this for years, and want to buy one,,and never have to buy another. $250 is still a tough one for a cooler. I cringed for a while, but on the boat, this thing saves the day.

I put all my Tupperwares in one if those big blue walmart bags they sell in the frozen section to get your ice cream home in. I throw a couple of the packs that you can refreeze over and over. Sounds crappy but it all cost about $10 and there's no melted ice to deal with. I can put a whole chicken in there and all the rice and veggies in need.

Their bigger one's are double that. A person needs to justify the constant use of a yeti, or it's a waste of $.

I am also an avid hunter and like to stay in the woods all day during firearm deer season, this could come in handy for that as well. I will check them out and if they have them in stock at the local gander mountain my friend gets 20% off so I could get it for a little over $200 with tax.

All I know is that motherfucker better get my ass and my stuff to the top of the mountain and back ALIVE, not like those poor bastards on Everest, or you damn right it's a waste of money!

search nextag.com for "picnic cooler" and you'll find some pretty nice ideas. I use one when needed.

I bring food to work everyday, I work 11 hour days and it sits at my desk all day. Never had any issues, been doing it for years...cooler is completely unnecessary, imho
