GREAT POINT!!! But wait.....everyone keeps saying that steroids dont burn fat. What most people don't realize is that fat cells have AR's also which, when latched onto, basically stops intake of new fat and causes the release of stored fat.
Testosterone's greatest ability may not lie in increased muscle, but significant decreases in bodyfat, specifically around the midsection
^^^ I do not believe steroids burn fat at all.
I think when you take a cutting compound it depletes the water in the fat cells and shrinks them. but this doesn't mean its burning the fat.. because when you stop taking it then the cells fill right back up.
you can have the same effect taking a water pill or Lasix. but its short lived and you can really risk major de-hydration doing that.
the only thing I can definitely say burns fat for me is cardio.. when I used to run 35+ miles a week I was at 6% body fat... also a catabolic diet full of fruits, veggies and lots of water will cause cell shrinkage, but you have to stick to that diet long term.. can't just do it a week and go back to eating Sonny's BBQ and KFC.
lets remember anabolic steroids are ANABOLIC, they aren't catabolic at all
I would be careful to trust studies over years of personal experience
I would say the problem with that study is characterizing someone who is fat as having low T, when in fact in 99% of cases they have low T because of they are fat in the first place. so if they got into better shape and their T levels went up then they would lose fat.
It's really a chicken and egg debate. For myself, I got into really good shape but still have natural levels around 300, which no doubt contributed to the weight gain, in addition to a crap diet.
So while you do have a point to a degree, at lower levels you will only get lean to a point and then basically be stuck there.
^^^ at your age and if your T levels are just 300 I would get on TRT especially if you are serious about this lifestyle and don't care about having kids anymore
There was a thread here in the forums about how a study group lost 5-8% bodyfat at low doses of test over a group that had no test, without any changes in diet or habits. Not a significant amount, but still suggestive of the ability to get rid of fat, isn't it?
Jesus 800 replies showed up while I typed. Disregard.
